Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions: effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.We are committed to fostering a culture of safe and responsible firearms use, gun ownership and awareness by working collaboratively with the firearms community, our stakeholders, and fellow agencies.About the role:Arms Supervisors will provide leadership and management of regulatory compliance and deliver a high-quality service the public deserve and expect.Arms Supervisors will provide leadership that builds a culture of high performance which results in teams that are inclusive, innovative, agile, and passionate in meeting our desired outcomes.This role requires management of a firearms licensing team, the successful applicant will be responsible for managing all performance indicators, managing and prioritizing firearms safety functions, delivery of training, support and implement change management practices to ensure process and legislative compliance. As well as overseeing workflow, ensuring effective case management practices including tasking and coordination.Key Deliverables:

  • Being adaptable to ongoing change
  • Ability to plan, prioritise and organise work for self/others
  • Lead day to day operational functionality of an Arms Team
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with relevant stakeholders
  • Cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Ensure efficient, effective and legislatively correct service delivery, to maintain regulatory compliance
