Description du poste : Associate Professor in Responsible EntrepreneurshipCopenhagen Business School invites applications for a vacant Associate Professorship in Responsible Entrepreneurship at the Department of Business Humanities and Law (BHL).Core research areas of the Department of Business Humanities and Law include governance, culture, learning, entrepreneurship, business ethics, leadership and business law from commercial and societal perspectives. The candidate will be a member of BHL’s Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership unit. The intersection between entrepreneurship and ethics is a key focus of this unit, and the emphasis on responsible entrepreneurship naturally aligns with this. Responsible entrepreneurship encompasses not only ethics but also a broader concern for how entrepreneurship unfolds within a historical, political, and societal context. Entrepreneurship can be understood from various perspectives, including the creation of new value, the process of market formation, the design and creativity involved in new ventures, and more. Therefore, the ideal candidate should demonstrate an understanding of entrepreneurship in context, drawing on humanistic knowledge, including various social disciplines such as history, sociology, philosophy, political science, and related fields.Examples of research areas that the associate professor might cover:
- Humanistic approaches to entrepreneurship
- Responsibility in entrepreneurship
- Market development in entrepreneurial contexts
- The role of design and creativity in market creation.
The associate professorship is a permanent position with research and teaching obligations. Successful applicants must have an international profile, a strong record of research publications, and teaching experience in entrepreneurship, innovation, market development, creativity, and/or responsible business. They must be capable of providing dynamic leadership in the development of research and teaching, securing external research funding, and establishing strong ties with industry.Teaching responsibilities of the Department comprise undergraduate, graduate teaching, and teaching PhD courses in various areas related to business humanities and law, including entrepreneurship and new market creation.To fulfill the research requirements of the position, the applicant(s) chosen is/are expected to be physically present on a regular basis and actively participate in the teaching and research activities of the Department.Research environmentThe core research areas of the Department of Business Humanities and Law are organized into different research Units: Entrepreneurship, Ethics and Leadership; Governance, Culture and Learning; and CBS Law. Faculty within these groups have research backgrounds in all areas of law, political science, sociology, philosophy, history, anthropology, literature, theology, aesthetics, design and innovation, tourism and leisure management, cultural economics, leadership and strategy, pedagogic study, and other areas.What unites faculty in our department is an overriding concern for the organization of the human within its multiple environments: work, nature, economy, civil association, the state, and corporation. BHL also participates in numerous interdisciplinary cross-CBS activities. In line with this concern, the assistant professor should demonstrate a capacity to bridge across several of these environments and place the human at the heart of the project.Responsibilities
- Teaching and associated examination in existing CBS programs, including Executive Education
- Individual and group-based research meeting high international standards
- Promoting CBS’s academic reputation
- Initiating, fundraising, and coordinating research projects
- Promoting the teaching and research capabilities of Copenhagen Business School and other relevant assignments at Copenhagen Business School
- Contributing to the administrative responsibilities of the department and to CBS-wide tasks
- Communicating findings to the public in general and to CBS’s stakeholders in particular
- Research, including responsibility for the academic development of the relevant discipline
- Responsibility for publishing, scientific communication, and research-based teaching
- Active participation in the regular research activities, such as research seminars, workshops, and conferences.
The associate professor is expected to contribute to the development and application of the department’s research and to maintain and strengthen CBS’s international research position.Qualification
- The applicant must hold a PhD or equivalent in an appropriate field.
- Candidates must document a high degree of relevant, original and up-to-date scientific publications at an international level within the areas covered by the department. Importance is put on the candidate’s ability to undertake research management and other relevant management functions.
- The candidate should be able to document pedagogical qualifications, good teaching evaluations, and the ability to innovate within the educational field.
- CBS emphasises the candidate’s ability to establish productive contacts with the business community.
- The candidate should have demonstrable capacities and willingness to offer high-level academic citizenship within a diverse and interdisciplinary community.
