Business Intelligence Developer – Johannesburg – R400 to R500 per hourPOSITION INFO:A specialist cell captive insurance company is seeking an innovative and dynamic individual to join our growing IT team in Johannesburg. The client operates in corporate risk , alternative distribution, and underwriting management sectors, and are looking for a skilled professional BI Developer with expertise in data acquisition and management.Join a vibrant team and help shape the future of insurance data management!Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end data pipelines (Event/Streaming, ETL, Data Lake, Data Warehousing, Dimensional Modelling).
- Import data into the corporate data lake/warehouse.
- Report on data acquisition progress, regulatory compliance, and financial accounting.
- Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and quality assurance.
- Apply structured problem-solving to project delivery.
- Querying: Managing SSIS packages and maintenance
- Transformations: Creating and managing SQL stored procedures
- Data Design: Designing and building SQL datasets for reporting
Qualifications & Experience:
- IT Related Degree/ Diploma / Microsoft Certification / Cloud Certification
- Min 5 years’ experience in BI (SSIS, SSRS)
- Min 5 years’ experience in Data Warehousing (Kimbal Methodology) (SSIS)
- Min 5 years’ experience in Cube Development (SSAS, MDX)
- Insurance industry knowledge required
- Database technologies SQL Server 2012 or later (Database, table, view and stored procedure creation, SQL query, SQL
- Security)
- Exposure to any cloud technologies will be advantageous
- Hadoop components including HDFS, Hive, Spark, Oozie and Impala
- Event/Streaming based data pipelines (e.g. Kafka or Nifi)
- Working knowledge of C# / VB.Net / VBA advantageous
The Reference Number for this position is NG60235 which is a 12-month Contract role based in Johannesburg offering a cost to company of R400 up to R500 per hour negotiable on experience and ability.
