Duration: 12-month full time consultancy (240 days, approx. 20 days/month)
Working arrangement: Home-based, with national travel as requiredCAFOD is the official development and international cooperation agency of the Catholic Church in England and Wales. With over 50 years of work in Brazil, we collaborate closely with local civil society and Church-based organisations to promote socio-environmental justice, resilient and sustainable livelihoods, good governance, indigenous and human rights, and responses to emergencies and the climate crisis.We are seeking a Brazil-based consultant to support our country programme and partner organisations with programme and project management, fundraising, communications, and partner capacity strengthening.Key Deliverables

• Programme and project cycle management, including appraisal, grant approval, financial, planning monitoring, and reporting
• Effective implementation of MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning)
• Support to the development and implementation of action plans to improve programme quality, including safeguarding policies
• Fundraising support, including proposal development (narrative and budget), donor reporting, and management of institutional funding
• Effective communication of partner organisations’ work, including successes, challenges, and lessons learned

Desired Profile

• Fluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written)
• Proven experience in programme and project management in the development sector in Brazil; experience in the humanitarian sector is an asset
• University degree, Masters desirable, in social sciences, international relations, development, administration or a related field
• Strong experience in financial management, including budget monitoring and financial reporting
• Experience supporting and coordinating with partner organisations, fostering collaboration and strengthening civil society networks
• Experience in organisational strengthening of grassroots and social movement organisations, including participatory processes
• Fundraising experience national and international (proposal writing, desirable knowledge of theory of change)
• Ability to communicate complex issues clearly and engagingly to a range of audiences
• Excellent organisational, communication, and cross-cultural teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently, with a high level of attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and online collaboration tools
• Willingness to travel within Brazil
• Knowledge of Brazil’s socio-political context and experience working with organisations inspired by Catholic Social Teaching is an asset

Consultancy Conditions

• Duration: 12 months (240 days), with an average of 20 days per month
• Location: Based in Brazil (São Paulo preferred, or Brasília); home-based work
• Workplan: To be agreed in consultation with CAFOD to ensure participation in online meetings, learning events, and effective collaboration with team members
• Remuneration: Based on delivery of agreed workplan
