The Digital Tracking Specialist is a skilled, detail-oriented professional with 2+ years of experience in conversion tracking and tag management. This role is critical for ensuring precise data capture and attribution across digital channels, supporting accurate campaign performance measurement. You’ll act as the technical backbone for tracking setups, guiding clients and
internal teams on best practices for capturing meaningful insights and maximizing marketing ROI.As a technical expert, you will work closely with our Paid Media Analysts and Account Managers to ensure seamless tracking implementations across platforms like Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, and more. This role demands a deep understanding of tracking technology, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to clearly communicate complex tracking setups to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Key Responsibilities
Tag Management and Conversion Tracking
? Implement and manage conversion tracking setups for major advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, Microsoft Ads, and others.
? Build and maintain tracking solutions using Google Tag Manager (GTM), including event tracking, custom triggers, and data layer integration.
? Ensure accurate data collection for offline conversions, first-party data, and advanced event tracking.
? Set up consent management tools to ensure tracking compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
? Implement data layer and cookie storage solutions to capture UTM parameters, session data, and lead attribution information, ensuring accurate tracking across multiple visits.
? Ensure form tracking setups can pass stored data to CRMs or analytics platforms for complete funnel visibility.
? Collaborate with developers to integrate tracking scripts and maintain data integrity across touchpoints.Call Tracking and Data Integration
? Set up and manage call tracking systems (e.g., Call Tracking Metrics, CallRail) to capture and attribute offline conversions effectively.
? Work with popular CMS platforms (e.g., Shopify, WordPress) to integrate and maintain tracking plugins for seamless data transfer.
? Integrate CRM platforms like HubSpot or Salesforce for data synchronization and lead tracking.Troubleshooting and Optimization
? Validate tracking setups to confirm accurate data flow from site to analytics platforms, reducing discrepancies.
? Perform regular audits and quality assurance checks to ensure accurate data capture and conversion tracking across platforms.
? Troubleshoot tracking issues, including tag misfires, data discrepancies, and pixel errors, ensuring accurate conversion reporting.Team Communication & Project Management
? Collaborate with Account Managers and Analysts to scope and execute tracking projects within defined budgets and timelines.
? Maintain clear and concise documentation for tracking setups, ensuring a smooth handoff to internal teams.Continuous Learning and Industry Awareness
? Stay up-to-date with the latest platform updates, tracking technologies, and best practices for digital marketing measurement.
? Monitor changes in data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ensure ongoing compliance for all tracking setups.
? Research and evaluate emerging tracking tools and server-side technologies, identifying opportunities for future service offerings.
? Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, providing training and support to teaUpgrade to see actual infombers on tracking best practices and tools.Required Qualifications & Skills
? 2+ years of hands-on experience in conversion tracking and tag management, including GTM.
? Strong understanding of first-party and offline conversion tracking strategies.
? Comfort with call tracking tools like Call Tracking Metrics or CallRail, including setup and integration.
? Familiarity with major CMS platforms like Shopify and WordPress, particularly for tracking plugin configurations.
? Strong analytical mindset and troubleshooting skills for resolving tracking discrepancies.
? Understanding of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) as they relate to tracking and data management.
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
? Proficiency with communication and project management tools (Asana and Slack)Preferred Qualifications & Skills
? 4+ years of hands-on experience in conversion tracking and tag management.
? Experience with other tag managers like Tealium, Adobe Launch, or Segment.
? Experience with server-side tracking and solutions like BigQuery or Snowplow (future service offering potential).
? Familiarity with API integrations and automation tools like Zapier or Make (Integromat).
? Understanding of how clean tracking data supports effective marketing optimization.
? Familiarity with cross-channel attribution models and the role of accurate conversion tracking in building effective multi-touch measurement strategies.Note
