ICEYE finished 2023 with €89.7M (~$95M; nearly $100 million) in revenue on the company’s road to profitability, and employs 700+ FTE in Finland, Poland, USA, UK, Greece, and Spain (50% of the colleagues are located in Finland).ICEYE is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced leader to spearhead our External Communications, a pivotal role within our corporate marketing and communications team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing & Communications, this position is at the forefront of crafting and implementing ICEYE’s external communications strategies and impactful PR programs globally. Your mission? To elevate our brand awareness, bolster our unique market positioning, and safeguard our company’s reputation.As a seasoned professional in public relations, media relations, and communications, you’ll be tasked with both strategizing and actively engaging hands-on in external communications activities. Your role is integral to maximizing the impact of our narrative and messaging by leveraging external channels, our spokespeople, customers, partners, and additional stakeholders to achieve the highest possible impact.Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ICEYE’s external communications strategy and plan, as well as related high-visibility media and communications outreach programs, in alignment with our business objectives.
  • Craft and amplify ICEYE’s overarching narrative & messaging, highlighting our strategy, vision, key milestones, products, solutions, and their value to our clientele.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key media, journalists, and influencers to foster positive coverage in the relevant categories.
  • Write and edit press announcements and media pitches, briefing documents, and other communications content.
  • Create compelling press announcements, media pitches, and briefing documents,
  • Coordinate press events, interviews, and media relations with our regional PR agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Manage and develop the global media desk activities.
  • Train and support our spokespeople to ensure effective communications, including executive profiling.
  • Work closely with our marketing and communications teams to align PR and external communications with broader marketing strategies, ensuring they reflect the company’s objectives and priorities.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and effectively communicate PR and external communications metrics to assess the impact of initiatives and to inform future communications strategies.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or related fields.
  • 10-15 years of experience in international PR and communications, ideally including a mix of PR agency and in-house communications HQ roles.
  • Significant communications experience in dynamic, hyper-growth scale-ups.
  • Demonstrated experience in creating and executing successful PR and external communications programs and strategies, including experience with US-based & truly international media, also outside the Nordic region.
  • Exceptional command of written and spoken English.
  • Strong project management prowess.
  • Adaptability and eagerness to thrive in a continuously changing, fast-moving, growth-oriented environment.
  • A flexible, positive mindset coupled with an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach to results.
