As an example of a brilliant product that we are developing in Tampere, check out !We are looking for a skilled and proactive Industrialisation Engineer to join our team in delivering cutting-edge electronic warfare sensor systems.Your roleAs an Industrialisation Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring a seamless transition of highly complex sensor products from R&D to serial production. You will act as a key interface between product development, manufacturing, and quality engineering, ensuring manufacturability, scalability, and cost-efficiency from prototype to full-rate production.You will also provide valuable support in configuration management, ensuring the integrity and traceability of our product designs and documentation.Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, coordinate and implement industrialisation activities for new sensor products and product changes
- Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, Sourcing, and contract manufacturers to ensure manufacturability, cost-efficiency and quality
- Ensure Design for Manufacturing (DfM) and Design for Test (DfT) principles are applied early in the development lifecycle
- Define and optimize the manufacturing flow, including PCB assembly, sensor integration, calibration, and final testing
- Develop, document, and validate production processes, test methods, and tooling required for complex RF, electronics, and mechanical assemblies
- Create and maintain production documentation, including work instructions and process flow diagrams
- Ensure production readiness by supporting prototype builds, pilot production runs, and ramp-up activities
- Support configuration management and traceability, including version control, change management and documentation control during industrialisation and handover to volume production
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives
Since Saab is a global company, this role requires fluent communication in both English and Finnish, with R&D and Production teams both in Finland and internationally.This role requires working mainly on our Tampere production site.Your profileRequired skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Proven experience in industrialisation or NPI (New Product Introduction) of high-complexity electronics products—preferably in telecom, defense, or RF systems
- Strong understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, including SMT, conformal coating, assembly, and test automation
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably IFS) and understanding of BoM structures
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies
- Experience with configuration management tools and processes
- Strong technical documentation and change management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
