Le candidat sélectionné sera chargé de diriger le Programme d’Infiltration, une initiative ambitieuse visant à comprendre et à gérer l’infiltration des eaux dans les réseaux. Cela comprend la mise en œuvre de méthodologies de détection des sources et la gestion d’équipes d’enquête sur le terrain pour identifier et quantifier les sources de l’infiltration.
Les principales responsabilités comprennent :
- Conduire des enquêtes stratégiques et affiner les méthodes existantes.
- Fournir un soutien technique tout au long du processus de conception, de mise en œuvre et de validation des solutions.
- Transformer les données d’enquête en plans d’action clairs et priorisés.
- Développer et mettre en œuvre de nouveaux standards d’actifs pour les enquêtes et réparations.
- Apporter une guidance technique aux équipes d’innovation pour l’évaluation de nouvelles technologies.
Ce rôle nécessite une collaboration étroite avec les analystes pour créer des cas solides justifiant les interventions, assurant ainsi des résultats optimaux tant sur le plan environnemental que financier.
Profil recherché
Le candidat idéal aura :
- Une expérience solide dans les réseaux d’eaux usées, avec des connaissances approfondies des systèmes, de l’hydraulique, et des modes de défaillance des actifs.
- Un historique éprouvé en gestion des actifs, d’enquête technique ou de résolution de problèmes opérationnels.
- Une approche analytique et méthodique avec la capacité d’interpréter divers données techniques (données de flux, relevés CCTV, cartes de réseau).
- De très bonnes compétences en communication, pour articuler des défis techniques complexes à des parties prenantes de divers niveaux.
- Une expérience en ingénierie civile, en science de l’environnement, ou dans un domaine connexe tel que la modélisation hydraulique.
L’acquisition d’une certification d’institutions reconnues, tel que CIWEM ou ICE, est un atout.

You will be at the heart of the action, leading the systematic investigation and diagnosis of infiltration across our network. This includes conducting desk-based studies and managing field investigation teams to systematically identify and quantify sources of infiltration within our highest-priority catchments.As the technical expert for the entire Infiltration programme, you will provide essential engineering support and oversight throughout the design, delivery, and validation of solutions. Your expertise will ensure that the correct interventions are applied in the most appropriate locations.You will play a pivotal role in transforming investigation data into a clear and prioritised action plan. Working closely with our analysts, you will help translate complex network information into persuasive business cases for intervention, ensuring our investments yield the greatest environmental and financial benefits.Your contribution will be key in developing and implementing new and improved asset standards for both investigation and repair. This will help ensure our approach remains consistent, efficient, and effective across the programme.You will also provide vital technical guidance to our innovation workstream, supporting the identification, trialling, and evaluation of new technologies and techniques. These innovations have the potential to transform how we detect and resolve infiltration issues.In addition, you will offer coaching and technical leadership to other team members, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the programme.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE ROLEWe’re looking for someone with a strong technical background in wastewater networks, including a solid understanding of assets, systems, hydraulics, asset performance, and failure modes. You should bring proven experience across asset management, technical investigation, or operational problem-solving, with a track record of diagnosing complex issues. A highly analytical and methodical approach is essential, along with confidence in interpreting a range of data sources such as flow data, CCTV surveys, and network maps to support informed decision-making.Excellent communication skills are also key, as you will need to clearly explain complex technical challenges and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. We value a proactive and solution-oriented mindset, particularly someone who is passionate about driving environmental improvements and delivering meaningful outcomes.You’ll have experience in civil engineering, environmental science, or a related field such as hydraulic modelling or wastewater engineering.
