Description du poste
Le poste de Lead Mechanical Engineer est basé à Varsovie (travail sur site) et propose un contrat permanent. Les principaux objectifs du rôle incluent le leadership des activités techniques axées sur le développement de nouvelles plateformes satellitaires, essentielles pour améliorer la technologie spatiale de la prochaine génération.
Rôles et responsabilités
- Membre clé d’une petite équipe responsable du cycle de vie des systèmes spatiaux, de la phase de conception jusqu’à la validation en orbite.
- Leader technique pour la conception et l’optimisation de la plateforme satellitaire ; supervision de la fabrication, des tests et des campagnes de qualification.

Exigences du poste
Pour réussir dans ce rôle, les candidats doivent posséder :
- Expertise en conception mécanique CAD, analyse et optimisation, depuis le concept jusqu’à l’analyse matérielle et structurelle.
- Connaissances en science des matériaux adaptées aux environnements spatiaux.
- Expérience avec des tests, notamment TVAC et campagnes de qualification pré-lancement.
- Une mentalité proactive face aux défis, en adoptant un esprit de recherche et développement.
- Un parcours avéré dans la livraison de conceptions via des fournisseurs.
Qualifications supplémentaires souhaitées
- Expérience en QA et AIT de mécanismes précis.
- Familiarité avec les systèmes de haute précision (robotique, optique).
- Expérience dans l’industrie aérospatiale, particulièrement en applications sous vide et cryogéniques.

We are looking for a Lead Mechanical Engineer experienced in spacecraft mechanical design, structural analysis, manufacturing supervision as well as testing and pre-launch qualification. Ideally a person who has been involved in designing and building satellite platforms for payloads requiring precise actuation, control and stabilization as well as who participated in components selection (working with manufacturers and contractors) and environmental (thermal, vibration) testing. In this role you will be involved in leading the technical activities focused on development of the new satellite platform enhancing ICEYE next generation spacecraft.What will you do in this role?
- Be a key founding member of the small team responsible for spacecraft systems lifecycle from the design phase up to in-orbit validation. The team will bring the design into full production, commissioning and operations of the imaging instrument, including all phases along the way – testing, qualification, verification and iterating on necessary steps.
- Be a technical leader for design and optimization of the satellite platform and oversee manufacturing, testing and qualification campaign. Due to the nature of the project and size of the founding “tiger team”, it’s expected to actively participate in the CAD and other engineering activities.
- Work with manufacturers of the components and subsystems to ensure the right quality, alignment and performance of delivered components and mechanisms.
RequirementsWhat will you need to be successful in this role?
- Expert knowledge and hands-on skills of mechanical CAD design, analysis and optimization including all phases of the project from the concept up to material and structural analysis.
- Familiarity with the material science and engineering being able to guide material selection and analysis for the space environment (outgassing, thermal cycling, thermoelastic effects).
- Familiarity with testing, especially TVAC and vibration testing and pre-launch qualification campaigns.
- Embracing the challenge, mindset of owning problems and solving them, capability of taking risks and leaning forward when needed. R&D style of learning by doing and iterating on the parts that require improvement.
- Experience in delivering design through suppliers – proven record of working directly together with manufacturers and subcontractors in order to get the design delivered to production, verified and validated.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in QA and AIT of the precise mechanisms.
- Experience in high-precision actuated (robotics, optical) systems is a plus.
- Experience with vacuum and cryogenic applications and materials used in the aerospace industry.
- Previous experience in the satellite and/or defense industry.
