Le Département des personnes et des technologies de l’Université de Roskilde propose un poste de Professeur ou Professeur Associé dans le cadre de son programme de promotion en Informatique. Ce poste s’inscrit dans une initiative stratégique visant à renforcer la recherche fondamentale dans des domaines propices à de nouvelles collaborations avec le secteur public et privé, avec un accent particulier sur les besoins de la région de Zealand. L’université privilégie les candidatures portant une ambition de développement de partenariats aussi bien nationaux qu’internationaux.

Le candidat sera impliqué dans des projets de recherche innovants et dans des enseignements interdisciplinaires, intégrant l’approche pédagogique centrée sur l’apprentissage par projets, qui est au cœur du modèle éducatif de l’Université de Roskilde. Le Département des personnes et des technologies est le plus important de l’université, couvrant un large éventail de sujets concernant les interactions entre l’humain, la société et la technologie.

Responsabilités et Tâches

Le candidat retenu sera chargé de mener des recherches et d’enseigner dans le domaine de l’informatique, tout en contribuant au développement d’une culture de recherche dynamique. Les responsabilités incluent :

– Maintenir un dossier de publications significatif et continuer à construire le groupe de recherche PLIS (Programmation, Logique et Systèmes Intelligents).
– Obtenir des financements externes pour des projets de recherche et participer activement à des réseaux de recherche.
– Enseigner et encadrer les étudiants de niveau Licence, Master, ainsi que les doctorants, tout en développant les programmes d’enseignement.

Le candidat idéal pourra enseigner dans plusieurs programmes de formation, notamment ceux liés aux sciences humaines, aux sciences naturelles, ainsi qu’à l’informatique.

Qualifications Requises

Les candidats doivent posséder un doctorat ou un diplôme équivalent en informatique ou dans un domaine étroitement lié, accompagnés d’une expérience significative en recherche et enseignement à un niveau de professeur associé. Une expertise en Data Science, notamment dans les domaines suivants, est particulièrement recherchée :

1. Intelligence Artificielle Explicable
2. Combinaison de l’apprentissage automatique et du raisonnement symbolique
3. Modèles linguistiques ou Traitement du langage naturel
4. Cybersécurité

Pour postuler au poste de Professeur :
Le candidat doit démontrer un leadership académique et s’engager dans le développement de la culture de recherche. Il est attendu qu’il publie dans des revues internationales de premier plan et qu’il sécurise des financements externes.

Pour postuler au poste de Professeur Associé :
Le candidat sera inscrit dans le programme de promotion et devra démontrer son potentiel à devenir professeur dans un délai de 2 à 8 ans.

Critères de Sélection

L’évaluation des candidats prendra en compte :

– La production scientifique originale à un niveau international.
– L’expérience en matière de leadership adaptatif dans la recherche et l’enseignement.
– La capacité à promouvoir et à utiliser les résultats de recherche.
– L’expérience dans l’attraction et la gestion de financements de recherche externes.

Compétences en danois ou dans une autre langue scandinave, ainsi que l’anglais, seront également considérées, conformément à la politique linguistique de l’université.

In PLIS, basic research in computer science is combined with innovative applications. The candidate’s main tasks will be to undertake research and research-based teaching within the field of research.The candidate will be expected to maintain a significant record of publications and to contribute to a strong research culture in the research group. You will also be expected to secure external research funding and engage in research networks. You will be required to teach, supervise, and assess students at BSc and MSc levels as well as PhD students. This also implies developing the field in relation to teaching. The position also requires sharing knowledge with the rest of society – including participation in the public debate.The ideal candidate can teach in several or all of the following education programmes:

Applicants must hold a PhD degree or equivalent within computer science or a closely related field and have documented qualifications equivalent to several years of research and tertiary teaching at the level of associate professor.We are seeking applicants with a background in Computer Science and a strong research profile in Data Science, preferably within the domain of Machine Learning. We are particularly interested in applicants with research in one or more of the following subject areas: (1) explainable AI, (2) the combination machine learning and symbolic reasoning, (3) language models or Natural Language Processing, and (4) cybersecurity. The research in the areas covered should span both basic research and innovative applications.Applicants must specify whether they are applying for a professorship or for an associate professorship as part of the promotion programme.Candidates applying for a professorshipThe ideal candidate for a professorship is expected to

  • Demonstrate scholarly leadership and contribute to a strong research culture
  • Perform research and publish in leading international, peer-reviewed journals, supplemented with conference papers at high-ranking academic conferences
  • Secure external research funding and engage in research partnerships
  • Contribute to the development of the research profile of the Department and in the PLIS research group
  • Develop and nurture research networks nationally and internationally, including industry and public sector partners
  • Contribute to developing the educational programs of the Department
  • Teach/supervise/assess PhDs, take part in the doctoral school’s teaching program, and attract new PhD students

Candidates applying for an associate professorship as part of the promotion programmeIf the chosen candidate is employed as associate professor, they will be enrolled in the department’s professor promotion programme and, thereby, get the option of being assessed and, if successful, promoted to full professor within 2-8 years. To qualify for enrolment in the professor promotion programme, the applicant must – in addition to being qualified as associate professor – demonstrate the potential to become full professor within 2-8 years.The ideal candidate for a tenure-track associate professorship is expected to

  • Perform research and regularly publish in leading, peer-reviewed journals and conferences at an international level
  • Teach courses and supervise projects in the above-mentioned educational programmes
  • Attract external research funding and manage research projects in collaboration with external partners
  • Contribute to the development of the research profile of the PLIS research group
  • Contribute to an engaging learning environment and to developing the educational programs of the Department
  • Teach/supervise/assess PhDs and attract new PhD students

Qualifications common to all applicantsApplicants should have documented experience in attracting and managing external project funding from national or international funding bodies with connected scientific publications in high-level scientific outlets. We also expect the applicant to support the development of collaboration with public and private actors that can benefit from applying the research results, as well as to develop research collaboration with other research groups within the University.The applicant is expected to possess initiative and good collaboration skills, be visible and actively contributing to the daily activities in the PLIS research group and the connected teaching programs. Both professional and social competencies will be prioritized to create an inspiring daily working environment.Within three years of employment, the applicant is expected to be able to teach in Danish. Experience with problem-oriented project supervision and teaching at university level is an advantage.The ideal candidate shall be enterprising and possess good communication skills and be a visible, involved participant in the department’s daily activities, in addition to being willing to engage in disciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration across the department.Assessment
In the assessment of the candidates, consideration will be given to:

  • original scientific production at an international level in relation to the above-mentioned field(s)
  • development of the field
  • experience with providing adaptive leadership in the development of research and teaching,
  • the ability to promote and utilize research results,
  • experience in teaching and education,
  • ability to contribute to the development of the department’s internal and external cooperation,
  • proven experience in securing external research funding,
  • fluency in Danish (or another Scandinavian language), English, or both – see the university’s language policy.
