Hours of work: full-timeTo view academic salary scales, pleasePosition OverviewMassey University’s School of Agriculture and Environment is seeking a passionate academic to join our team as a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Soil Science based at our Manawatū campus. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to world-class teaching and research in a university ranked among the top in agriculture and environmental sciences globally.You will be expected to deliver high-quality teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise research students, and conduct impactful research in soil science, particularly soil physics, nutrient and contaminant transport, and catchment-scale modelling.Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver courses in Soil Science across agricultural, earth, and environmental science programmes
- Supervise postgraduate research (Masters and PhD)
- Lead or contribute to externally funded research in soil and environmental science
- Apply modelling tools such as APSIM, SWAT, and GIS in research and teaching
- Engage with stakeholders and contribute to Massey’s mission as a Te Tiriti-led university
About you:You will hold a PhD in Soil Science or a related field and have demonstrated expertise in field-based soil research and modelling. Experience with online and blended teaching methods is essential.
