Reporting into the General Manager – Property Services, this role works alongside a team of building and facilities professionals to drive operational excellence and overall management of all hard services and maintenance across our luxurious, 6-star integrated resort in Barangaroo.This exciting role will see you leading a team of 8 direct reports across the engineering and maintenance team who manage preventative and reactive maintenance schedules, and ensure that all systems from HVAC to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical, meet luxury standards and operational continuity. You’ll implement innovative systems to provide cost-effective solutions that enhance the guest experience whist minimising downtime, whilst driving a team culture of continuous guest satisfaction. This role will give you exposure to a wide range of departments and will have you working closely with the hotels, F&B, gaming, security and surveillance management teams, as well as collaborating with the Property leadership teams, to align operations with brand expectations whilst continuously improving service delivery.Some of your key responsibilities will involve:
- Managing and supervising the daily maintenance activities for all hotel and casino facilities, ensuring that systems and equipment are fully operational and guest services are not disrupted
- Developing and implementing a comprehensive preventative maintenance schedule to reduce breakdowns and extend the lifespan of hotel and casino infrastructure
- Overseeing the maintenance team, providing training, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards
- Leading the development and execution of long-term maintenance strategies to preserve Crown Sydney’s high-end facilities
- Leading response efforts for urgent maintenance issues, troubleshooting and resolving problems efficiently to minimise disruptions to hotel and casino operations
- Conducting regular inspections of the property’s physical assets, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and machinery + identifying areas that require repairs or improvements
- Ensuring all maintenance activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as industry best practices
- Budgeting, resource management, and sourcing vendors for specialized services, ensuring quality and cost control
- Coordinating and oversee renovation and upgrading projects for hotel and casino facilities to maintain luxury standards and enhance guest experiences
- Implementing and monitor energy-saving initiatives to reduce utility costs and improve the resort’s environmental footprint
- Maintaining detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and compliance reports to ensure efficient tracking and accountability
You’ll have:
- Post Graduate Degree or Diploma in a related discipline (Engineering preferred)
- High level operational and technical experience in building and construction/project management fields
- Demonstrated management experience at a senior level within a commercial or operational/industrial environment
- Experience with consulting and providing appropriate advice to Senior Leaders on course of action
- Excellent business, financial and commercial acumen with proven deliverables and results
- Demonstrated project management skills, with strong ability to deliver projects on time and within budget
- Proven team leadership experience across large and dynamic workforces, including contractors
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise and influence at all levels of the business
- Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve business objectives
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with ability to resolve difficult business issues that have legal or PR risk
- A keen eye for detail, and a commitment to providing elevated experiences
- Has or is able to obtain all required Casino Employee Licenses
