Description du Poste

En tant que Millwright, vous serez responsable de la maintenance et du fonctionnement des machines industrielles au sein d’un environnement stimulant. Vous travaillerez en étroite collaboration avec des équipes militaires et d’autres groupes chez Serco pour assurer la qualité et l’efficacité des services fournis au Département de la Défense nationale (DND). La mission est claire : soutenir les opérations de NORAD et la formation militaire des Forces armées canadiennes et de leurs alliés.

Objectifs et Missions Principales

  • Lire et interpréter des schémas pour définir les procédures de travail.
  • Assurer la gestion du cycle de vie des équipements, en identifiant et corrigeant les problèmes.
  • Mettre en place et installer des machines industrielles selon les plans fournis.
  • Opérer des équipements de levage et réaliser des tâches de maintenance régulières.
  • Collaborer avec d’autres corps de métier et former des apprentis jusqu’au niveau de compagnon.
  • Travailler dans des conditions variées, y compris en extérieur et dans des espaces confinés.

Profil Recherché

Qualifications

  • Détention d’un certificat de compagnon millwright valide pour la province de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador.
  • Connaissance des systèmes d’eau potable et d’égouts, un atout.
  • Capacité à obtenir une certification de distribution d’eau de Classe I dans les 6 mois suivant l’embauche.
  • Compétences informatiques, notamment la maîtrise de MS Office.
  • Détention d’un permis de conduire valide et capacité à obtenir une vérification de sécurité.

Conditions de Travail

Taux horaire : 51,50 CAD
Heures de travail hebdomadaires : 37,5 heures

We work on behalf of DND’s “no fail” mission at Goose Bay: supporting NORAD operations for the projection of air power on the north and northeast coasts of Canada, while supporting military training for the Canadian Armed Forces, Allies and NORAD. 5 Wing Goose Bay provides effective training facilities, adaptable infrastructures, and a unique, austere, and challenging training location. Currently,Serco Canada has over 1,200 employees across four provinces, including a strong and growing Indigenous workforce.You will be part of a team that works closely with the military customer and other Serco teams to deliver quality and efficient services to DND. Industry Excellence Recognition Award for Gender and Diversity Excellence.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Perform/assist in life cycle management pertaining to problematic or old equipment that may be unnecessarily using resources and maintenance dollars.
  • Assemble/Install stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layouts using hand, pneumatic, power tools and welding equipment.
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery and equipment.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery.
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work.
  • Assist shop Supervisor with estimates for repairs and/or installations.
  • Using applicable processes and tools, log all work order details daily (e.g. labour hours, comments, etc)
  • Using applicable processes and tools, enter time for pay purposes weekly, ensuring timesheets are signed as determined by the employer.
  • Using applicable processes and tools, carry out all work tasks as assigned, including requisitioning of materials.
  • Perform potable water production operations.
  • Perform hydrant flushing, flow measurement and maintenance.
  • Perform sewer flushing.
  • Perform wastewater collection/ sampling.
  • Assemble and position scaffolding, ladders, and other elevated work platforms for the installation/maintenance of machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces during the execution of assigned duties.
  • Assist other trades in performance of their duties.
  • Operate vertical lifting equipment to access work areas/equipment where required.
  • Operate light duty / other vehicles in the performance of their duties
  • Required to periodically work in adverse weather conditions and remote locations.
  • Train apprentices up to Journeyperson standard and endorse appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure all assigned deliverables and other reports are completed accurately and on time.
  • Visibly demonstrate Serco Values and work practices while completing duties.
  • Other related duties relevant to this position as may be required.

  • Possession of a valid Journeyperson Millwright certificate for the Province of NL, or Apprentice with a Certificate of successful completion from a Vocational Institute in the field of Millwright with associated endorsements and logged hours may be considered.
  • Experience with potable water and sewer systems is considered an asset.
  • Ability to obtain Class I Water Distribution Certification within 6 months of hire date.
  • Class II Water Distribution and/or Treatment are considered an asset.
  • Class 09 Air Brake endorsement is considered an asset.
  • Computer skills using MS Office, including the ability to prepare electronic spreadsheets is considered an asset.
  • Possession of or the ability to obtain and maintain a Ramp Defensive Driving Course (DND/RDDC) certification to operate vehicles on the airfield is required.
  • Possess valid NL Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Enhanced Reliability security clearance is required. May be required to upgrade to Secret Level II (dependent upon customer’s security requirements).
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening test.
  • Ability to obtain drivers abstract.
