Le programme de Sociologie, Études de Genre et Criminologie à l’Université d’Otago est un espace académique dynamique qui représente la plus grande unité de la School of Social Sciences. Dans ce cadre, nous recherchons un candidat pour un poste de Lecturer qui rejoindra notre équipe en février 2026.
Les Responsabilités du Poste
Le candidat retenu sera chargé d’enseigner dans les domaines de la criminologie et des études de genre, tout en contribuant au développement des curricula de ces matières. De plus, des projets d’avenir pourraient inclure des thèmes comme :
- Genre et travail
- Criminologie critique
- Justice criminelle
- Théorie sociale
- Intimité, amitié et famille
- L’avenir du genre et de la criminalité (ex. abolition et utopies)
Le candidat devra également :
- Développer un programme de recherche et de publications.
- Superviser des dissertations et thèses au niveau post-universitaire.
- Participer aux travaux de service au sein du programme, de l’école, de l’université et des communautés élargies.
Critères de Compétence
Le candidat idéal possédera :
- Un doctorat en Criminologie, Études de Genre, Sociologie ou dans un domaine connexe.
- Une expérience d’enseignement au niveau supérieur et des publications évaluées par des pairs.
- Une expérience en supervision ou mentorat post-universitaire.
- Une capacité à interagir avec des étudiants et des membres du personnel de divers horizons académiques et culturels.
- Un engagement envers la promotion d’un enseignement inclusif qui soutient l’engagement avec te ao Māori, te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori, et les savoirs du Pacifique.
- Une connaissance des débats théoriques et méthodologiques en études de genre et/ou criminologie critique.

To build on our success, we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer to join our team in February 2026.For further information about the Sociology, Gender Studies and Criminology programme, please see the Information for Candidates and our website: https://www.otago.ac.nz/sgcThe role/Te mahiWe welcome applications from strong candidates with a demonstrated focus on both gender and criminology. The successful candidate will teach into both Criminology and Gender Studies curricula as well as contributing to the wider programme. In time, they will be encouraged to develop undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. Possible areas of future development could include some of the following: gender and work; critical criminology; criminal justice; social theory; intimacy, friendship and family; the future of gender and crime (e.g. abolition and utopias).The successful candidate will also develop and maintain a programme of research and publications. They will contribute to the strong postgraduate research culture in our Programme, and will be expected to supervise postgraduate student dissertations and theses. In addition, they will be expected to undertake service work with the Programme, School, University and wider communities.Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheakoThe successful candidate will be expected to have:
- A PhD in Criminology, Gender Studies, Sociology or a relevant field.
- Teaching experience at tertiary level and peer-reviewed research publications.
- Some experience of postgraduate supervision and/or mentorship.
- Evidence of an ability to work with students and staff from differing academic and cultural backgrounds and at all levels of the institution.
- The ability to contribute to the teaching, research culture and growth of the Sociology, Gender Studies & Criminology programme.
- A commitment to contribute to teaching and learning environments that support engagement of students and staff with te ao Māori, te reo Māori, mātauranga Māori, and Pacific knowledges.
- Knowledge of the theoretical and methodological debates in gender studies and/or critical criminology.
