Description et Responsabilités du Poste
Le service de Santé et Réhabilitation des Personnes Âgées est une subdivision de Health New Zealand, basée à l’hôpital Burwood. La clientèle cible inclut les patients en santé mentale âgés, et le candidat retenu intégrera une équipe constituée de 65 physiothérapeutes et 15 assistants. Parmi les tâches clés du poste, on trouve :
- Réaliser des évaluations et traitements efficaces conformément aux normes de pratique.
- Élaborer des plans de traitement personnalisés en collaboration avec une équipe interdisciplinaire.
- Assurer une communication efficace avec les autres membres de l’équipe de physiothérapie et de soins.
Le rôle inclut également la gestion des groupes de thérapie quotidienne, axée sur l’exercice et la relaxation.
Profil Recherché
Le candidat idéal est un physiothérapeute expérimenté ayant déjà travaillé en réhabilitation pour personnes âgées.
Critères Essentiels :
- Enregistrement auprès du New Zealand Physiotherapy Board avec un certificat de pratique annuel valide.
- Un minimum de 18 mois d’expérience en milieu de réhabilitation des personnes âgées.
- Capacité à établir des relations de travail étroites avec les assistants et l’équipe de physiothérapie.
- Flexibilité pour intervenir dans divers domaines de réhabilitation selon les besoins.
La souplesse dans le travail est requise, y compris la participation à un service de week-end, dont les modalités sont négociables.

The Burwood Physiotherapy Team is made up of 65 Physiotherapists and 15 Physiotherapy Assistants split into 3 teams including a Musculoskeletal, Neurology and Older Persons team. There are 4 Older Persons Rehab wards and 2 Older Persons Mental Health ( OPMH) wards in the OPH cluster.As a crucial member of the OPMH Inpatient IDT you will be responsible for carrying out effective patient assessments and formulating patient centred, goal-based treatment plans which facilitate improving function, wellbeing and safe discharges in the 2 OPMH wards. Treatment plans include both individual and group work including daily exercise and relaxation classes.You will work alongside a full time Physiotherapy assistant and a Physiotherapist who is based in the OPMH day clinic.There is a culture of support across the OPH cluster and our whole team and you may experience other areas if clinically required.In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out effective patient assessment, evaluation and treatments in accordance with policies, procedures and standards of practice
- Formulating treatment interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring effective communication with other members of the physiotherapy team and wider MDT team
About YouYou will be the full time Physiotherapist in Older Persons Mental Health based in Ward AG/BG. Whilst full support and orientation will be given we are seeking an experienced Physiotherapist who has worked in an Older Persons Rehab setting to join the team. It is essential that you hold Registration with the New Zealand Physiotherapy Board with a current Annual Practicing Certificate and have a minimum of 18 months experience. To be successful in this role you will demonstrate the following:
- The ability to hit the ground running with the energy and passion to deliver a high standard of care to patients
- The ability to develop a close working relationship with physiotherapy assistants and the wider physiotherapy team
- Flexibility and adaptability with an enthusiasm for knowledge sharing across and beyond your discipline
- Flexibility to work in any of our rehabilitation areas depending on need in conjunction with the wider interdisciplinary teams
- It is essential that you are a New Zealand Registered Physiotherapist with a current practicing certificate to be considered for this role
- You will either be an existing ENABLE assessor or eligible for registration
