Responsabilités Principales
L’équipe de Consumer Policy, faisant partie du groupe Commerce, Consumers, and Business (CCB), est le conseiller principal du gouvernement sur l’environnement commercial en Nouvelle-Zélande. Les priorités de l’équipe incluent notamment :
- Faciliter l’usage des données par les consommateurs et promouvoir le open banking.
- Amender la législation sur le crédit à la consommation dans le cadre des réformes des services financiers.
- Coordinations gouvernementales pour lutter contre la fraude financière.
Compétences et Expériences Requises
Pour ce rôle, il est souhaité que les candidats possèdent :
- Une expérience en politique publique, avec des compétences transférables d’un rôle de conseiller, juridique ou similaire.
- Une pensée logique et des compétences en résolution de problèmes.
- Une connaissance des processus de développement politique.
- Un intérêt pour l’amélioration de la capacité culturelle et pour le respect de Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Capacité à établir des relations collaboratives et à naviguer dans l’ambiguïté.

Tēnei tūranga – About the Role:We are looking for a Policy Advisor to join the Consumer Policy team and work on issues that affect everyday consumers and businesses across the economy.
The team sits within the Commerce, Consumers and Business (CCB) branch of the Building Resources and Markets business group. MBIE’s CCB branch is the Government’s lead advisor on the commercial environment in which all New Zealand businesses and consumers operate. We look after the laws and institutions that underpin how businesses and consumers interact with each other including: competition, fair trading and consumer guarantees, financial conduct, corporate governance, intellectual property, small businesses, and stewardship of the dispute resolution system.The Consumer Policy team leads advice to the Government on whether our consumer laws are working well for both businesses and consumers. Our current main priorities include:
- Progressing legislation to allow consumers to use their data and enable things like open banking
- Amending consumer credit legislation as part of the Government’s financial services reforms
- Coordinating efforts across government to tackle the issue of financial scams

- Have a good base of experience in public policy as a Policy Advisor or transferrable skills from an advisory, legal or similar role
- Be a logical thinker, problem solver, and have a healthy level of curiosity
- Bring knowledge of policy development disciplines and processes
- Enjoy working on tricky problems, generating ideas and coming up with solutions
- Have or want to improve your cultural capability and knowledge of te ao Māori, te reo Māori and how Te Tiriti o Waitangi informs our work
- Have the ability to build relationships with others and work collaboratively
- Have the ability to work through ambiguity and deliver results
