Le Karolinska Institutet, l’une des universités médicales les plus renommées au monde, recrute un Research Assistant pour soutenir des recherches de pointe sur le vieillissement des cellules souches. Cette recherche vise à comprendre comment la fonction des cellules souches se dégrade avec l’âge, un problème central pour la régénération des tissus.
Le projet se concentre sur l’élargissement cellulaire des cellules souches, un phénomène observé en vieillissant et en cas de dommages. Ce processus pourrait contribuer à une perte de fonction critique, mais son mécanisme exact reste encore à élucider.
Votre Mission
Le titulaire du poste utilisera des cellules souches hématopoïétiques humaines pour :
- Identifier des facteurs facilitant le vieillissement des cellules souches.
- Application de la séquençage unique.
- Création de xénogreffes avec des souris « humanisées ».
- Investigation des mécanismes sous-jacents à travers des systèmes in vitro.
Profil Recherché
Nous recherchons une personne hautement motivée et ambitieuse, prête à contribuer aux recherches dirigées par l’Assistant Professeur Dr. Jette Lengefeld. Le candidat idéal devra :
- Avoir une attitude proactive et collaborative.
- Avoir des compétences en communication et présentation de recherche.
- Posséder une capacité à penser logiquement en termes biologiques, illustrée par des publications de recherche.
Exigences Obligationnées :
- Excellente maîtrise de l’anglais, écrit et parlé.
- Expérience en biologie expérimentale d’au moins 4 mois.
- Bonne compréhension de la biologie moléculaire et de la génétique.
Qualités Méritoires :
- Connaissances en biologie des cellules souches expérimentales, hématologie, séquençage et culture cellulaire.
- Compréhension approfondie de l’hématopoïèse.
- Expérience pratique en culture cellulaire, tri cellulaire et cytométrie en flux avancée.
- Compétences en statistiques et maîtrise de R.

📝 Description du poste : Do you want to contribute to top quality medical research?The failure to regenerate tissue with age is a major health issue. A contributor to this decline is the loss of stem cell function. Despite the essential role of stem cells, it is still unclear how they fail to maintain their functions during aging and disease. We discovered a new aspect of stem cell aging in vivo: cellular enlargement. With age and damage, stem cells increase in size causing their functional decline. However, we are only beginning to understand how size impacts stem cell fitness and the physiological importance of this process remains unsolved.Your missionYour project will utilize human hematopoietic stem cells to identify factors that facilitate stem cell aging by single sequencing, creating xenotransplants using “humanized” mice and in vitro systems to investigate the underlying mechanisms.Your profileWe are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual from universities around the world to join the research team of Assistant Professor Dr. Jette Lengefeld to mechanistically understand novel mechanisms of human stem cells that drive aging. The Lengefeld research group uses hematopoietic stem cells from mice and human bone marrow donations to discover how deregulation of cellular size is connected to aging.We are looking for a candidate with:
- An attitude to drive own research and work in an intra and inter team fashion
- Soft skills in teamwork, research communication and presentation
- A competence to think logically in biological terms, as demonstrated in research publication
- We put great emphasis on personal suitability.
Special skills and attributes of the applicant:Mandatory requirements
- Excellent knowledge in English, written and spoken
- Experience in experimental biology for at least 4 months
- Good understanding of molecular biology and genetics
Meritorious qualities
- A research background in experimental stem cell biology, hematology, sequencing, cell culture and experience working with mice
- Good knowledge of hematopoiesis
- Hands-on experience with cell culture, cell sorting, and advanced flow cytometry
- Expertise in R and foundations of statistics
