Job Summary:We are seeking an experienced and skilled School Bursar to manage the financial affairs of our school. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and financial reporting, as well as overseeing financial operations such as payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.Responsibilities:

  • Processing annual billing and recoveries for debtors, including distribution of monthly statements.
  • Manage the full debtors’ collections process according to the school policies on collection.
  • Perform administration duties ensuring monthly deadlines are adhered to and collection targets are met.
  • Ensuring that debtors’ information is accurate and that customer profiles are maintained.
  • Assist at school functions when required.
  • Assist the Executive Headmaster develop and manage the school’s budget and financial plans.
  • Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage cash flow and investments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide financial guidance and support to school administrators.
  • Oversee financial aid and scholarship programs.
  • Manage relationships with financial institutions and external auditors.
  • Ensure financial security and internal controls.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and /or Finance, a MUST.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management, preferably in a school setting
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred
  • Strong financial analysis and planning skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial systems

Working Conditions:

  • Work in a fast-paced school office environment
  • May require occasional overtime or flexible hours
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods and use computer equipment
  • Solid Knowledge of SAGE ACCOUNTING & PAYROLL and Excel is a must.
  • Police clearance not older than 6 months.
