Responsabilités principales

Qualifications requises

Le poste exige des qualifications éducatives spécifiques, déterminées par le type de programme académique et le rang du poste :

  • Nurse Educator Associate : Baccalauréat en soins infirmiers avec minimum deux ans d’expérience à temps plein au niveau d’infirmier.
  • Nurse Educator : Master en soins infirmiers ou diplôme équivalent et minimum de trois ans d’expérience à temps plein en soins infirmiers.

Les candidats doivent également posséder un permis RN de l’Oregon et une certification BLS de l’American Heart Association.

Qualifications préférées

  • Doctorat est souhaité.

The OHSU School of Nursing in Ashland is located on the Southern Oregon University campus, a nationally renowned liberal arts and science college located in the foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains. Ashland is 286 miles from Portland. This campus offers three programs: two to complete the Bachelor of Science with a Major in Nursing degree and a third to complete an Accelerated Bachelor to Master’s program (Family Nurse Practitioner, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner).At OHSU’s School of Nursing, we are guided by a mission of healing, teaching, and discovery to optimize health, prepare nurse leaders, and transform health care. We promote equity, inclusion, and social justice, striving for innovation and sustainability in all we do.The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.Function/Duties of PositionEducation Activities (Includes didactic, clinical, and mentoring activities):Didactic Teaching:

  • Provides effective classroom instruction based on teaching assignments, using appropriate instructional technologies to ensure that course outcomes are met.
  • Participates collaboratively in the development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.

Clinical Teaching:

  • Plans, supervises, and delivers effective clinical instruction in lab, simulation, and real-world healthcare settings, ensuring students apply theoretical knowledge to practical situations.

Student Mentorship and Supervision:

  • Mentors and advises students across academic and professional development areas.
  • Faculty in the doctoral program supervise students in dissertation and/or clinical inquiry projects.

Scholarly Activities (Research/writing, abstracts, grant-supported work, presentations, etc.):

  • Participates in scholarly activities based on faculty rank.
  • At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the practice mission, demonstrates competence in an area of clinical expertise and engages in inquiry and scholarship that contributes to the science of clinical practice.
  • At the Assistant Professor rank or higher, faculty in the research mission advance a program of research, prepares grants and seek funding, and engage with other missions to foster inquiry within the SON.

Service Activities:

  • These activities could include faculty meetings, committee membership, professional activities, and other campus specific activities as assigned by the Program or Academic Director.
  • Participates in faculty governance; additional strategic initiatives based on rank.

Administrative Activities:

  • As negotiated.

Other Activities:

  • The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university’s missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

Required QualificationsEducation and Experience (Degree dependent on academic program type and rank of position. Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position):Nurse Educator AssociateEach Nurse Educator Associate must hold at least a baccalaureate degree in nursing with the equivalent of a minimum of two years of full-time patient care experience at the registered nurse level.

  • Lecturer: BSN
  • 2 years of full-time clinical practice experience required

Nurse EducatorEach Nurse Educator must hold at least a master’s degree in nursing or a baccalaureate degree in nursing and master’s or doctoral degree in a related field with relevant teaching and nursing experience related to the teaching assignment. They must also have the equivalent of a minimum of three years of full-time patient care experience at the registered nurse level; and,document competency in teaching through experience, educational preparation, or continuing education.

  • Instructor: MSN or equivalent
  • Assistant Professor: MSN, Ph.D./DNP
  • 3 years of full-time clinical practice experience required

Registrations, Certifications, and/or Licenses (Current licensure & certifications could be required depending on position and academic program.):

  • Oregon RN license
  • BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level or higher preferred.
