Le groupe des Biotechnologies Chimiques au sein du département Process Research & Development Enabling Technologies de MSD recherche un Senior Scientist spécialisé en ingénierie des protéines. Cette mission consiste à développer des biomolécules et des processus biocatalytiques afin d’avancer le pipeline de l’entreprise et d’amplifier son impact dans la communauté scientifique. L’ingénierie des protéines est un élément clé de la découverte et du développement de médicaments modernes.

Nous nous engageons à optimiser cette méthodologie pour améliorer la santé humaine, en utilisant des outils tels que la conception computationnelle des protéines, l’automatisation avancée, les tests à haut débit et l’apprentissage automatique.

Responsabilités du Poste

Le candidat retenu sera amené à :

  • Concevoir et construire des bibliothèques d’ADN de haute qualité.
  • Exprimer de grandes bibliothèques de protéines et développer des tests pour les caractériser via des sélections à haut débit.
  • Avancer dans des programmes d’ingénierie des protéines basés sur des hypothèses en utilisant ses compétences en bioinformatique, biologie moléculaire ou biochimie.
  • Collaborer dans des équipes pluridisciplinaires pour résoudre des problèmes complexes et développer des technologies novatrices en ingénierie des protéines.
  • Participer à des conférences scientifiques, contribuer à des publications et établir des stratégies de recherche.

Qualifications Requises

Éducation :

  • B.S. avec 5+ années d’expérience, ou M.S. avec 4+ années d’expérience dans un domaine pertinent (ex. : Biologie Moléculaire, Bioingénierie).
  • Ph.D. dans un domaine pertinent attendu au plus tard en octobre 2025.

Compétences :

  • Expérience variée en biologie synthétique, ingénierie biologique, ou conception et évolution dirigées des protéines.
  • Expertise démontrée en biologie moléculaire, biochimie ou conception computationnelle des protéines.
  • Aptitude à travailler en équipe et à communiquer efficacement.

Expériences et Compétences Préférées

Il est souhaitable d’avoir une expérience en ingénierie des biocatalyseurs, des voies biosynthétiques, ou des protéines de novo. Une familiarité avec des techniques comme le séquençage de nouvelle génération, l’automatisation, et l’utilisation de langages informatiques tels que Python ou R serait un atout.

📝 Description du poste : Job DescriptionThe Chemical Biotechnologies group within the Process Research & Development Enabling Technologies Department in Rahway, New Jersey is seeking a Senior Scientist to expand our capabilities to design and engineer proteins with novel functions. The mission of the group is to invent, develop, and implement biomolecules and biocatalytic processes to advance our company’s pipeline and our impact on the scientific community. We view protein engineering as a key enabler in modern drug discovery and development, and are committed to developing novel methodologies and technologies that enhance protein engineering to improve human health. We leverage computational protein design, advanced automation, high-throughput screening, and machine learning to accelerate the development of novel proteins to produce therapeutics to support both clinical and commercial manufacturing. The candidate will work closely with a diverse and collaborative group of chemists, biologists, computer scientists, and engineers. The group collaborates broadly within our Company, with academic leaders, and with industry partners to expand and accelerate the impact of protein engineering on human health.Job Responsibilities:In this role, the candidate will directly contribute to the invention of novel proteins by guiding gene acquisition, designing and building high-quality DNA libraries, expressing large protein libraries, developing assays, and/or characterizing libraries using high-throughput screens and selections. They will leverage skills in bioinformatics, molecular biology, and/or biochemistry to advance hypothesis driven protein engineering programs. They will develop engineering strategies, choose which engineered proteins to select as leads, and deliver biocatalysts and/or biotherapeutics with improved functions and properties. As part of cross-functional teams, they will collaborate across groups to solve complex problems and develop novel protein engineering technologies that enable drug discovery, development, and commercialization. They will attend scientific conferences, contribute to publications, and help to set the strategy of the group.
