Description du poste
Le Press and Media Coordinator aura pour mission principale la surveillance de la couverture médiatique slovaque relative aux enjeux d’intérêt pour les États-Unis, ainsi que le développement de stratégies pour encourager une représentation précise et équilibrée des politiques étrangères américaines. Ce rôle implique des responsabilités variées telles que :
- Analyse des médias : Évaluer la portée géographique, les tendances politiques et la crédibilité des différents médias slovaques.
- Engagement stratégique : Établir des relations productives avec les professionnels des médias, tant en personne qu’en ligne.
- Communication proactive : Conseiller la direction de la mission sur la correction de désinformations et la promotion d’une couverture médiatique positive concernant les intérêts américains.
Exigences
Expérience
Une expérience de quatre ans est requise dans des domaines tels que le journalisme, les relations publiques ou la communication, à travers des organisations variées comme des ONG ou des ambassades.
Savoir-faire
- Connaissance de la politique étrangère : Compréhension approfondie des objectifs de la politique étrangère américaine et des institutions médiatiques slovaques.
- Compétences analytiques : Capacité à anticiper et évaluer les attitudes des médias et du public concernant les politiques américaines.
Éducation
Un diplôme universitaire dans des domaines tels que le journalisme ou les relations internationales est nécessaire.
Compétences linguistiques
Une maîtrise (niveau 4) de l’anglais et du slovaque à l’oral et à l’écrit est exigée.

- Compétences interpersonnelles : Excellente communication et capacité à tisser des liens avec des interlocuteurs variés dans le domaine médiatique.

Recommends priority engagement with outlets that reach audience groups of greatest importance to Mission priorities.RequirementsEXPERIENCE:A minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in a media outlet, think tank, university, NGO, international organization, foreign embassy, government office or corporation is required, with responsibility for public relations, public affairs, journalism, communications, marketing, managing public relations, outreach events, press conferences, and other media interactions as significant parts of the job.JOB KNOWLEDGE:Detailed knowledge of U.S. foreign policy objectives and American interests in the Slovakia, especially as they apply to press and media professionals, outlets and online publications is required. Comprehensive understanding of Slovak press/media institutions and professional journalism standards and practices, as well as trends in audience preferences for information consumption (print, TV, radio, online) is required. Must have an understanding of communication trends in the region and internationally as they affect the Slovak information landscape and must be familiar with influence patterns in information flow. Knowledge of marketing techniques, market analysis and audience analytics in Slovakia.Understanding of U.S. historical, political, economic, social and cultural forces that shape U.S. foreign policy are all required and of U.S. press and media standards, norms and practices. Thorough, detailed knowledge of various computer software programs, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases, as well as PD-specific software, databases, and reporting tools is required. Knowledge of PD-specific funding authorities is required. Detailed knowledge of and ability to use digital platforms, tools and products are required. Must have good numerical skills to develop budget projections and statistics for press and media analytics. Must have basic familiarity with TV and radio production skills to oversee logistics for press and television coverage.
