Teledyne employs c 11000 people worldwide and our Chelmsford facility is one of largest within the group, hosting multiple business units and functions.Our Space Imaging business in Chelmsford provides high performance CCD, Infrared and CMOS sensors for space science, earth observation, astronomy, and high energy physics applications.We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our highly successful manufacturing team, to develop high precision silicon assembly and provide onward support to manufacture.SummaryDevelopment of new and existing Probe capabilities for the testing of CCD / CMOS WafersWork with Production Engineers to ensure DFM (design for manufacture) is optimisedAssist with development and writing procedures for the prototyping of new productsContinuous improvement of existing manufacturing processes and work instructions, working with the wider production/manufacturing teamGeneration of SAP ME routings from the manufacturing flow diagramsGeneration of SAP BOM’s and master data, working with design, engineering and procurement teamsEnsure all documentation is confirmed through Configuration Control Boards (CCBs)Manage and optimize operations flow (information and production flow)Assist with production trials and ensure all relevant documentation is completedWork to existing NPI processesQualificationsTo succeed in this role, you must have:Experience of Production/ManufacturingExperience of developing manufacturing processesExperience of working in a project manufacturing environmentExcellent problem-solving skills, with documented resultsThe ability to work effectively in a teamSelf-motivationAttention to detailHNC in Engineering or Physics or equivalent experienceTo succeed in this role, you could also have:Experience within an Electronics product manufacturing environmentExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.Teledyne and all our employees are committed to conducting business with the highest ethical standards.
