Description du poste : Guys and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation trust Physiotherapy department is recruiting musculoskeletal physiotherapist at band 6 level and also to our band 6 talent pool.Being successful to the talent pool means that when another vacancy arises (in the following 6 months after interview) we will contact you and offer you the position.The musculoskeletal services management team comprises a head of service, 1 clinical lead, 2 deputy clinical leads, 10 clinical specialists and is responsible for a team of over 60 staff. The department offers a well-developed clinical education programme comprising of internally and externally run courses. Continuing professional development is actively supported. The department has strong links with Kings College London and provides clinicians for both lectures and practical sessions. The department operates an extended hours service including Saturday provision. Band 6 Physiotherapist- Musculoskeletal Outpatients: We work in a diverse area within London with close links with the local GPs, we also except secondary referrals from within the hospitals’ specialist services. Our band 6 rotations include gym, hand therapy, fracture clinic, hydrotherapy, spinal, pelvic health and community hubs.Main duties of the jobYou will be working at band 6 level and should have a broad range of band 5 experience (or equivalent) in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and core rotations. You will be managing your musculoskeletal caseload, participating in department training and development opportunities and working as part of a team.About usGuy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is the largest teaching hospital trust in the country, employing over 240 physiotherapy staff. - Broad range of experience, as an autonomous practitioner, at Band 5 level in acute and chronic respiratory care, acute and chronic rehabilitation and musculoskeletal work and to include a range of settings across acute and community locations
- Participation in weekend work
- Experience of Chronic pain management and knowledge of different approaches in pain management
- Experience of working as member of a physiotherapy team and of a multidisciplinary team.
Desirable
- Previous experience at Band 6 level
- Rotational work within the NHS
- Supervision of Band 5, PTA and Student
- Experience of the research process
- Experience of teaching on In service programmes and to the MDT
Skills/Knowledge/AbilityEssential
- Good assessment skills based on a sound clinical reasoning approach including assessment of symptom behaviour, history taking and gathering of physical/objective testing and hypothesis formation
- Competent manual therapy techniques of peripheral and spinal areas and including myofascial, neurological and skeletal systems
- Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate
- Able to present information, written and orally, in a clear and logical manner
- Ability to keep legible and accurate notes in English in the POMR system
- Weekend work and able to provide advice and patient assessment as a lone practitioner in an on-call situation
- Competent manual therapy techniques of peripheral and spinal areas and including myofascial, neurological and skeletal systems
- Understanding of Clinical Governance and the implications for physiotherapy services including experience of quality issues and audit
- Understand the legal responsibilities of the profession
