Votre Opportunité
Le poste d’ingénieur de sous-station au sein de Stantec offre l’occasion de travailler sur des projets d’ingénierie de haute tension, en collaboration avec une équipe dynamique d’ingénieurs et de concepteurs. Le candidat retenu sera impliqué dans la conception détaillée et la gestion de projets de sous-stations à haute tension, avec un accent particulier sur le design des sous-stations à isolation par air (AIS), tout en ayant un atout supplémentaire si une expérience dans les sous-stations à isolation gazeuse (GIS) est présente.
Responsabilités Clés
Les principales responsabilités incluent :
- Développer tous les aspects de l’ingénierie physique et de la conception des sous-stations à haute tension.
- Préparer des rapports et des documents techniques répondant aux exigences des clients.
- Coordonner avec d’autres disciplines pour assurer l’achèvement des livrables.
- Effectuer des contrôles qualité sur les packages de conception d’ingénierie électrique.
- Développer des propositions et estimer les efforts nécessaires pour les projets.
Qualifications et Compétences
Pour réussir dans ce rôle, le candidat doit posséder :
- Une formation académique : Diplôme en ingénierie électrique (école accréditée ABET préférée) avec au moins 5 ans d’expérience en conception de sous-stations AIS à haute tension.
- Certifications : Licence P.E. fortement préférée ou en cours d’obtention.
- Compétences techniques : Expérience avec les logiciels tels que MicroStation, AutoCAD, ainsi que des outils d’analyse de mise à la terre.

Reporting to the Substation Manager, this position offers you the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the detailed electrical design and project management of high voltage substation projects.The successful candidate should have experience in the area of air-insulated substation (AIS) engineering and design (gas-insulated substation (GIS) experience is a plus) from the 13 kV to 500 kV levels, with an understanding of the substation design process, substation materials and equipment and related electrical design studies such as electrical clearance, grounding, lightning, voltage drop, and rigid bus design. Experience with work planning, coordination of designers and drafters, reporting, cost estimating and scheduling are also important.Your Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for developing all aspects of high-voltage (HV) substation physical engineering and designPrepare reports that present technical and project information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirementsPrepare Electrical Physical design packages consisting of One-line Diagrams, Site Plans, Electrical Plans & Sections, Grounding Plans & Details, Conduit Plans & Details, Control Building Plans & Details, Lighting Plans, Lightning Protection Plans and bills of materials (BOM).Coordinate with designers and engineers of other disciplines to complete deliverablesInterpret and incorporate vendor information into design deliverablesPerform QA/QC of electrical engineering design packagesProvide regular progress updates related to deliverables on projectsDevelop proposals and engineering level-of-effort (LOE) estimates and analysisKnowledge or experience with substation Protection & Control design and/or concepts is a plusYour Credentials and CapabilitiesStrong safety mindsetAbility to work effectively in a team environment and develop strong client relationshipsStrong organization skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projectsAble to demonstrate solid technical understanding through written and verbal communicationAbility to visualize and evaluate equipment details, phase-to-ground and phase-to-phase clearances, and drawing relationshipsSolid understanding of substation grounding, lightning protection, and illumination studies (strongly preferred)Experience in the preparation of technical specifications for high voltage electrical equipmentAbility to manage and deliver Physical Engineering deliverables in accordance with project schedules and budgetsAbility to work closely with Drafters, Designers, Engineers and Leads and Project Managers to meet with project timelines for engineering deliverablesAbility to understand client specific requirements, standards and specifications; and applicable codes & regulations for preparing physical electrical packagesAbility to travel for project related meetings and site visits.
