Présentation du Poste
Le poste de Senior Lecturer en Écologie Humaine est centré sur l’enseignement et la recherche au sein de la division Écologie Humaine. Cette division adopte une définition interdisciplinaire de son domaine de recherche, s’intéressant particulièrement aux relations entre l’humain et l’environnement dans divers contextes culturels. L’accent est mis sur l’intégration de perspectives issues des sciences sociales, des sciences naturelles, ainsi que des humanités afin de traiter les enjeux de durabilité à des échelles locales et globales.
Responsabilités du Poste
Le candidat retenu participera activement à l’enseignement et à la recherche en Écologie Humaine. Les responsabilités incluent :
- La conduite de recherches de haute qualité dans des domaines critiques tels que l’économie politique, l’écologie politique, et les crises socio-écologiques.
- Le développement et l’administration de programmes d’études et de cours en Écologie Humaine et disciplines connexes.
- La collaboration interdisciplinaire, notamment avec le Département de Géographie Humaine.
Qualifications Requises
Pour être eligible, le candidat doit :
- Détenir un doctorat en Écologie Humaine ou dans un domaine connexe (Sciences de la Durabilité, Économie Écologique, Anthropologie).
- Démontrer une expérience avérée en enseignement et en recherche dans des domaines pertinents.
- Avoir complété une formation de cinq semaines en enseignement supérieur ou avoir acquis des connaissances équivalentes.
Les candidats doivent également maîtriser l’interaction avec la société pour diffuser leur travail de recherche. Une maîtrise de la langue suédoise est souhaitable.
Compétences Meritorieuses
Des compétences et expériences supplémentaires, telles que :
- Un fort intérêt pour l’enseignement des thématiques liées à l’écologie humaine.
- Une capacité à travailler en équipe et à enseigner en suédois.
- Des publications dans des revues internationales et des expériences réussies de financement de recherches externes.

The Human Ecology Division applies an inter-disciplinary definition of its research field. Research and education at the division deals with human-environmental relations in different cultural contexts. The ambition is to integrate perspectives from the social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities in understanding sustainability issues at local and global scales. Particularly important is to complement and elaborate definitions of environmental problems deriving from natural and engineering sciences by emphasizing aspects such as culture, power, and global distribution. Research at the division has, for instance, focused on ecologically unequal exchange, global environmental load displacement, climate justice, the political ecology of indigenous populations, traditional resource management, and political ecology.Job description
The post comprises teaching and research in Human Ecology. The division of labour is regulated by collective agreements. The proportion of research can be expanded through external research funding. In addition to conducting high-quality research and education in Human Ecology, the successful candidate is expected to be able to participate in the development and administration of study programs and courses in the field of Human Ecology. In addition, teaching and administrative tasks may also involve courses and study programs at the interface of Human Ecology, Human Geography and Development Studies.We welcome high-quality applications from candidates with a clear focus on human-nature relations, and we would like the applicant to have a research focus that complements and strengthens the department’s existing profile areas in teaching and research. The research division of human ecology has strength in critical political economy and political ecology and are looking to expand the research base including for examples areas such as system transformation, alternatives and prefigurative politics; the natural science base of socio-ecological crises as well as ecological economics and heterodox economics.Qualifications
To qualify for appointment as a senior lecturer, you must have:
- been awarded a PhD in Human Ecology or have the corresponding research competence from a related field such as Sustainability Science, ecological economics or Anthropology
- be able to demonstrate documented teaching and research competence in one or more fields of relevance to Human Ecology
- completed five weeks of training in higher education teaching and learning, or acquired equivalent knowledge by other means, unless there are valid reasons
When hiring a senior lecturer, equal weight is given to scientific and pedagogical competence. The ability to interact with society and to inform people about research and development work is also taken into account. A successful candidate who is not a native speaker of Swedish is requested by the department to acquire and, in the long run, master proficiency in Swedish.The following qualifications are meritorious:
- a strong interest in and experience in teaching in human ecology topics
- interest in contributing to teaching at the Department of Human Geography within the Division of Human Ecology and working with students
- good interpersonal skills and willingness to work together in teaching teams
- documented ability to work both independently and as part of a research environment
- documented research experience in human ecology-related topics
- previous experience of publishing in international journals
- experience of applying for and also receiving external research funding and experience with
- ethnographic, economic and/or quantitative methods relevant to human ecology would be an advantage
- experience of teaching in the Swedish language
