Description du Poste :
Le Département des Économies recherche un Associate Senior Lecturer pour intégrer le groupe Agricultural and Food Economics. Ce projet fait partie de l’initiative SLU Futures, conçue pour attirer et soutenir des chercheurs prometteurs autour des thématiques de la production durable, des écosystèmes résilients, et de la santé globale. L’objectif est de bâtir un environnement académique fort qui favorise des recherches avant-gardistes et de long terme.
La position offre une opportunité concomitante de recherche et d’enseignement sur la résilience des systèmes agricoles, dans un cadre collaboratif qui inclut un groupe dynamique de chercheurs, doctorants et spécialistes des communications.
Domaine de Compétence :
Le candidat retenu se concentrera sur l’économie agricole, avec une attention particulière à la résilience des systèmes agricoles et leur lien avec les pratiques de production durables.
Responsabilités :
Les principales responsabilités de l’assistant professor incluent :
- Développer un profil de recherche indépendant et collaborer sur des projets internes et externes.
- Déposer des demandes de financement de recherche et publier des articles scientifiques.
- Contribuer à l’évolution du groupe de recherche au sein du sujet traité.
- Participer à l’éducation postdoctorale en tant que co-superviseur.
- Assurer des cours aux niveaux bachelor, master et doctorat.
- Participer à des formations pédagogiques complémentaires.
- Initier des collaborations interdisciplinaires lorsque cela est pertinent.
- Collaborer avec des acteurs industriels liés au secteur.
L’université utilise à la fois le suédois et l’anglais. Le titulaire devra pouvoir communiquer en anglais immédiatement, mais devra maîtriser le suédois dans un délai de quatre ans. Un soutien pour l’apprentissage du suédois sera fourni.
Critères d’Éligibilité :
Les candidats doivent démontrer une forte capacité à mener des recherches dans le domaine choisi et à travailler en, tant au niveau national qu’international. La position est ouverte aux personnes qui cherchent à évoluer dans leur carrière académique avec la possibilité de postuler pour un avancement en tant que Senior Lecturer ou Associate Professor.

La date de début du contrat est flexible et l’emplacement de travail est Uppsala, Suède. Within this framework, the Department of Economics provides an important platform for research and education in business studies and economics with an emphasis on applied science, often in collaboration with the university’s natural science disciplines.The department’s research and teaching focus on knowledge and understanding of the sustainable use, management, and governance of natural resources, including the value chain for agricultural products and food. The department consists of four research groups: Agricultural and Food Economics; Environmental Economics; Decision-Making and Management; and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. In addition to research, these groups provide teaching at the bachelor- and master-level within SLU’s agronomy and general business and economics education programs. The department also hosts the AgriFood Economics Centre – a collaborative initiative between SLU and Lund University that provides economic expertise for policy development and decision-making in the areas of food, agriculture, fisheries, and rural development.We are now seeking an associate senior lecturer for the Agricultural and Food Economics group to work on research and teaching related to the resilience of agricultural systems. This research group has rapidly established itself as a strong and dynamic international research environment, currently comprising ten PhD-level researchers, eleven doctoral students, and a communications officer. The group contributes to the scientific literature in agricultural economics and related disciplines. The subject area for this position is agricultural economics with a focus on the resilience of agricultural systems and their connection to sustainable production practices.Duties
The associate senior lecturer is expected to develop an independent research profile within the subject area.Research should be carried out in close collaboration with colleagues at the department and SLU, as well as through national and international collaborations.In addition, the candidate should within the subject area
- apply for external research funding in competition and publish scientific articles
- contribute to developing a research group within the subject area
- participate in postgraduate education as a co-supervisor
- teach at first, second and third cycle level, including doctoral level
- further pedagogical training
- actively participate in and initiate interdisciplinary collaborations where relevant to the subject
- collaborate with relevant stakeholders in the industry.
Swedish and English are used in parallel at the department. The holder of the position should be able to perform the majority of their tasks in English. However, as a public authority, the university has Swedish as its main language according to the requirements of the Language Act and the holder of the position must be able to use Swedish as their working language within four years of beginning the position.
