Description du poste : La Faculté d’Agriculture et de Sylviculture de l’Université d’Helsinki invite les candidatures pour le poste de Chargé de cours universitaire en Gestion des forêts mondiales, à partir du 1er novembre 2025 ou à convenir. Ce poste permanent se situe au sein du Département des Sciences Forestières, où le titulaire renforcera la recherche et l’enseignement globaux concernant la gestion et l’utilisation durable des ressources forestières.
Les candidats doivent prouver une solide expérience en recherche, enseignement, et supervision de thèses dans le domaine. La performance réussie au sein de ce poste nécessite une expérience en recherche et enseignement dans une ou plusieurs des disciplines suivantes :
- forêts mondiales
- agroforesterie
- intégration des perspectives économiques, écologiques et sociales de la sylviculture mondiale
Le chargé de cours doit avoir une expérience et des compétences dans l’obtention de financements de recherche et la supervision d’étudiants en Licence et en Master, ainsi que de chercheurs doctorants. Une expérience pratique en gestion des ressources forestières, incluant les dimensions humaines telles que les moyens de subsistance, sera considérée comme un atout.
Un intérêt pour la collaboration avec des parties prenantes des secteurs privé, public et associatif est essentiel. Au sein du Département des Sciences Forestières, l’enseignement et la recherche sont particulièrement liés aux activités de l’Institut des Ressources Tropicales de Viikki (VITRI).
Responsabilités principales
Le principal responsable de l’enseignant-chercheur sera l’enseignement aux niveaux de Licence et de Master, proposé dans les programmes de diplôme en sciences forestières, ainsi que dans le programme Libéral des Arts et des Sciences (LAS) au niveau universitaire. Le Département des Sciences Forestières offre la voie d’étude « Gestion des ressources forestières mondiales », qui comprend deux modules, totalisant huit cours. Le chargé de cours sera responsable de cette voie d’étude, ainsi que du module Forêts Mondiales (quatre cours) inclus.
Le titulaire du poste devra également participer au marketing étudiant pour les programmes de Licence et de Master et s’engager dans des interactions sociétales.
Exigences d’éligibilité
Le candidat sélectionné devra posséder un diplôme de doctorat applicable. Les publications scientifiques et autres mérites de recherche ainsi que leur capacité prouvée à obtenir des financements de recherche externes seront des éléments clés dans l’évaluation des candidatures. L’expérience pédagogique, la capacité à produire des supports d’apprentissage et, au besoin, une démonstration de l’enseignement seront également prises en compte.
Conformément au Décret gouvernemental sur les universités, les chargés de cours universitaires doivent maîtriser le finnois et posséder au moins des compétences satisfaisantes à l’oral et à l’écrit en suédois. Les citoyens étrangers et ceux qui n’ont pas été éduqués en finnois ou en suédois peuvent être exemptés de cette exigence sans demande séparée. Si le candidat n’est pas compétent en finnois, il est attendu qu’il acquière un niveau intermédiaire (niveau B2 du CECR) dans les cinq ans suivant la prise de fonction. L’Université soutiendra l’appointee dans l’acquisition des compétences linguistiques nécessaires.

Le salaire brut mensuel pour un chargé de cours varie entre 3 500 et 5 500 euros, selon les qualifications et l’expérience. The permanent position will be located at the Department of Forest Sciences.The university lecturer strengthens the global research and teaching related to the management and sustainable use of forest resources at the Department of Forest Sciences. Applicants must have strong evidence of research, teaching, and thesis supervision in the field. Successful performance in the position requires the applicant to have research and teaching experience in one or more of the following disciplines:
- global forestry
- agroforestry
- integration of economic, ecological and social perspectives of global forestry
The Lecturer must have experience and capabilities in obtaining research funding and supervising Bachelor’s, Master’s students and doctoral researchers.Practical leadership experience in activities related to forest resource management and use, including human dimensions such as people’s livelihoods, will be considered an advantage for the applicant. Additionally, experience in international education, acquiring related funding, and curriculum development and implementation, especially in developing countries, is considered an advantage.The appointee must have versatile research methodology expertise and should also master modern data analysis methods. The appointee must have an interest in working in a multicultural and multilingual environment and in interdisciplinary teams, as well as collaborating with stakeholders from the private, public and third sectors. In the Department of Forest Sciences, the teaching and research of the university lecturer is particularly linked to the activities of the Viikki Tropical Resources Institute (VITRI) .The main responsibility of the university lecturer is teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s level, which is offered in forest sciences degree programs and in the university-level Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) program. The Department of Forest Sciences offers the LAS program « Resource management of global forests » study line, which includes two modules, a total of eight courses. The university lecturer is the person responsible for this study line and the Global Forests module (four courses) included in it.The selected individual for the position must have the necessary pedagogical skills for teaching and motivation for renewing and developing teaching in both bachelor’s and master’s programs. Teaching is also developed through international projects.The responsibilities of the university lecturer also include participating in student marketing for the bachelor’s and master’s programmes, as well as engaging in societal interaction.Eligibility requirements:The appointee to the position shall hold an applicable doctoral degree and be able to provide high-quality teaching based on research and to supervise theses and dissertations. When assessing the qualifications of the applicants, attention shall be paid to scientific publications and other research merits of scientific value and their proven ability to receive external research funding. In addition, teaching experience and pedagogical training, the ability to produce learning materials, other teaching merits and, if necessary, a teaching demonstration.According to the Government Decree on Universities, university lecturers must be proficient in Finnish. They must also have at least satisfactory spoken and written skills in Swedish. Foreign citizens, non-native Finnish citizens or citizens who have not been educated in Finnish or Swedish may be exempted from this requirement without a separate application. If the appointee is not proficient in Finnish, they are expected to acquire intermediate level skills (CEFR level B2; ) within five years after the appointment. The University will support the appointee in acquiring the necessary Finnish language skills and time for language studies can be included in annual working plan.
