Focusing cross-border such as Jikgu business, guide the organization and establish policies, procedures, and controls to manage and mitigate compliance risks and to ensure compliance with all laws and regulations that apply to the relevant industry, business, and compliance domain, as well as professional standards, business practices, and internal standards.What You Will Do

  • Develop and maintain policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Cross-border Product Compliance, primarily focusing on Coupang’s global entities. These policies and SOPs will encompass compliance requirements such as product listing, SDP/labeling requirements, storage and transportation, Andon program, product recall reporting for products across various categories.
  • Create a risk-based plan to conduct Cross-border Product Compliance Audits. These audits will involve extensive communication with relevant departments and data access. Supplier performance data, product returns, and customer complaints will be reviewed to identify potential risks to product safety.
  • Develop a method to collect, retain, and assess applicable laws, regulations, and pertinent standards. Conduct research to assess the impact of these laws and regulations and communicate legislative or regulatory updates to business partners.
  • Possess expertise in country-specific regulations for Cross-border products. Conduct special reviews of safety compliance and quality issues to identify root causes and work with relevant stakeholders to implement modifications to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

  • Working experience 15+ years, especially, 5+ years at oversea goods with working experience for regulation, compliance, quality assurance, quality controls, and/or quality audit role, especially project management
  • Bachelor’s degree required from Legal or Technical discipline related to product related major
  • Knowledge of retail supply chain and enforcement processes in high volume retail industries and related legal requirements
  • A mix of policy and project management experience
  • Skills to effectively communicate complex legal and regulatory rules to managers at all levels
  • Creative thinker, ability to streamline processes, implement changes that foster higher efficiencies while meeting expectations of our internal and external stakeholders
  • Problem solver, Self-driven, Interpersonal skill, Team player
  • Ability to thrive in a high energy environment where tactical and strategic activities are driven in parallel

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience in compliance program management within fast-paced, technology driven retail businesses a strong plus
  • Key Competencies: overall process ownership; deals well with ambiguity, functions well and able to clearly define processes in loosely structured situations; comfortable with following up on
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to work independently and autonomously.
  • Good problem-solving skill: acts decisively, promptly and confidently. Not afraid to contradict others and proactively offering solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Korean and English to deliver presentation and training

  • In preparation for a job applicant’s request for the return of hiring documents pursuant to the main sentence of paragraph 2 above, the Company shall retain the original hiring documents submitted by the job applicant for 180 days from the completion of the recruiting process. If no request is made until the end of this period, all his/her hiring documents will be destroyed immediately in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act.
  • The above paragraphs 1 – 4 shall only apply when the labor-related laws of Korea govern the application. They are otherwise not applicable.
