Our team is passionate about delivering not just talent, but true value and long-term partnerships to our clients.About the RoleWe’re hiring a mid-to-senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join a small but mighty engineering team (3 people total) at a fast-paced fintech startup. You’ll be contributing across the stack to build user-facing features and robust backend integrations. If you’re passionate about financial empowerment, building from scratch, and working in a mission-driven startup—this is your chance.You’ll be joining through Puzzle.tech, a nearshore staffing firm focused on placing top LATAM talent with U.S. startups.Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the CTO and Product team to ship high-impact features
- Contribute to both frontend (React.js) and backend (Node.js/NestJS) codebases
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs and scalable services using AWS
- Work on a PostgreSQL-based database layer, ensuring performant data access
- Help improve onboarding workflows and eventually contribute to deeper fintech integrations
- Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code
- Participate in code reviews and technical discussions with the team
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong skills in React.js, Node.js, and TypeScript
- Solid experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
- Comfort working with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Familiarity with AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, EC2, RDS, S3)
- Strong English communication skills (written & verbal)
- Proactive, self-directed problem-solver who thrives in startups
- Ability to understand business and compliance constraints and apply them to software design
Nice to have:
- Experience working in Fintech, especially in credit scoring, mortgage, or lending spaces
- Exposure to data privacy, security, or PII-sensitive applications
- Experience with MVP development and scaling early-stage products
