Le poste de Mission Manager for Atmospheric Missions est une occasion unique de contribuer au développement et à la gestion des missions satellites axées sur l’observation atmosphérique. En tant que membre clé de la Direction des Programmes d’Observation de la Terre, vous serez chargé de la phase d’exploitation des missions Sentinel-5P, ALTIUS, FLEX et FORUM, en coordonnant des opérations complexes dans un environnement international dynamique.
Responsabilités Principales
Sous l’autorité du chef de division, vos responsabilités incluront :
- Gestion de l’exploitation de la mission Sentinel-5P en coordination avec les opérations de vol et le soutien post-lancement.
- Coopération avec le Ground Segment Operations Manager et les équipes scientifiques ESA pour maximiser l’utilisation des données.
- Interaction avec les services Copernicus pour optimiser le retour d’information sur les données des utilisateurs.
- Préparation et gestion des missions ALTIUS, FLEX et FORUM durant leur phase de développement.
- Communication proactive des résultats des missions aux parties prenantes, y compris la Commission Européenne et les États Membres de l’ESA.
Compétences Techniques et Comportementales

- Compréhension des objectifs des missions d’observation terrestre atmosphérique.
- Connaissance approfondie des politiques et programmes d’observation terrestre de l’ESA.
- Expérience en coordination d’équipes techniques/scientifiques dans un cadre international.

Exigences Éducatives et Critères Additionnels
Un master ou un doctorat dans un domaine scientifique ou technique pertinent est requis. Les compétences supplémentaires suivantes seront considérées comme un atout :
- Familiarité avec les programmes Copernicus et les cadres d’observation de la Terre de l’ESA.
- Compréhension des besoins des utilisateurs en matière de missions d’observation atmosphérique.
- Motivation élevée et capacité à agir de manière proactive.

ESRIN, Frascati, ItalyDescriptionMission Manager for Atmospheric Missions in the EO Mission Management and Product Quality Division, EO Mission Management and Ground Segment Department, Directorate of Earth Observation Programmes.DutiesUnder the authority of the Head of Division, you will be given the following tasks and responsibilities:
- Managing the exploitation phase (Phase E2) of the Sentinel-5P mission space segment in coordination with Flight Operations and Post-Launch Support
- Ensuring the exploitation of the Sentinel-5P mission in coordination with the Ground Segment Operations Manager, Product Quality Manager and the ESA Science Teams
- Coordinating, during the Sentinel-5P exploitation phase, the tasks delegated to other ESA departments and directorates, or cooperating with European and international partners
- Maximising the return on the mission by understanding the continuously evolving needs of Sentinel-5P data users, in particular through interfacing directly with the Copernicus Services, and ensuring the best possible match between the mission and its user needs
- Preparing the exploitation of the ALTIUS, FLEX and FORUM missions during the development phase with a view to maximising the return on the mission, in particular through interaction with expert users, the collection of user recommendations on data quality, exploitation scenarios, user support activities, etc.
- Managing the exploitation phase (Phase E2) of the ALTIUS, FLEX and FORUM mission space segments in coordination with Flight Operations and Post-Launch Support
- Ensuring the exploitation of the ALTIUS, FLEX and FORUM missions in coordination with the Ground Segment Operations Manager, Product Quality Manager, and the ESA Science Teams
- Coordinating, during the ALTIUS, FLEX and FORUM exploitation phase, the tasks delegated to other ESA departments and directorates or outside ESA, or cooperating with European and international partners
- Maximising the return on the missions by understanding the continuously evolving needs of the ALTIUS, FLEX and FORUM data users and ensuring the best possible match between the mission and its user needs
- Contributing to the reporting to the European Commission and to ESA Member States on matters related to the exploitation of the missions and communicating frequently and proactively on their results
