Description du Poste

Le Département de Droit de la Faculté de Droit, d’Économie et de Finance de l’Université du Luxembourg recherche un candidat pour un doctorat axé sur la recherche en droit pénal et/ou droit de la procédure pénale, avec une préférence pour les aspects européens, internationaux et interdisciplinaires. Le candidat travaillera sous la supervision de Professeur Stefan Braum.

Le projet de thèse doit s’inscrire dans le cadre des préoccupations contemporaines liées à la liberté, la sécurité et la justice, notamment l’impact de la digitalisation sur les systèmes judiciaires nationaux et européens. Le candidat a également la possibilité de proposer un sujet de recherche différent tant qu’il reste connecté aux thématiques générales.

Contributions et Collaboration

Le candidat participera à l’enseignement d’un à trois heures de cours par semaine, impliquant des travaux de groupes et des tutoriels. En intégrant une petite équipe de recherche regroupant plusieurs doctorants et chercheurs postdoctoraux, le doctorant bénéficiera d’une collaboration enrichissante et de connaissances diversifiées, lui permettant de contribuer à des projets de recherche en cours sur la souveraineté européenne et le développement de l’état de droit dans le Sud Global.

Profil Recherché

Les candidats doivent démontrer un intérêt avéré pour au moins deux des domaines suivants :

• Droit pénal européen
• Droit pénal international
• Procédures pénales
• Droits de l’Homme
• Théorie et Philosophie du droit
• Criminologie

Les exigences sont les suivantes :

• *Un master en droit*.
• *Compétences linguistiques* pour évoluer dans un environnement multilingue : maîtrise de l’anglais ou du français, une bonne compréhension de l’autre langue, et la connaissance d’une troisième langue, idéalement l’allemand, constitueront un atout.

📝 Description du poste : Your roleThe Department of Law of the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg is looking for a PhD candidate to conduct research in in the areas of criminal law and/or criminal procedure law, ideally in connection with its European, international and interdisciplinary aspects.The doctoral researcher will be working under the supervision of Professor Stefan Braum. The thesis work will be undertaken at the University of Luxembourg but can also be jointly-supervised with another university. The suggested theme of the PhD falls within one of the above-mentioned fields and can address current issues in the area of freedom, security and justice, in particular the impact of digitalisation on national and European criminal justice systems. The candidate is, however, welcome to suggest any other topic within the overarching project theme. The doctoral candidate will contribute to the teaching of classes ranging from one to three hours per week, of small group teachings and tutorials.The doctoral researcher will benefit from being part of a small research group comprising several PhDs and Postdoctoral Researchers working on related topics of European (Criminal) Law and human rights. In particular, the PhD candidate may be involved in ongoing research projects on European sovereignty (“Chaire Internationale L’Europe Souveraine à l’Université de Pau et des Pays de l’Adour”) and the development of the rule of law in the Global South. • A master’s degree in law
• Have the linguistic skills to evolve in a multilingual environment: fluency in either English or French, good understanding of the second language and possibly a third language, German in particular, will be considered an advantage
