Basé dans l’herbier de l’entreprise à Perth, le candidat sélectionné sera chargé d’identifier des échantillons de plantes collectés à travers la plupart des biomes de l’Australie-Occidentale. Cette position inclut également la gestion de l’herbier interne et le mentorat de botanistes moins expérimentés.
Responsabilités quotidiennes
Les tâches quotidiennes incluent, mais ne se limitent pas à :
- L’identification de spécimens de plantes issus d’enquêtes diverses.
- La préservation et le catalogage des échantillons pour une référence future.
- Le maintien de la précision taxonomique à travers la recherche scientifique et la collaboration avec des musées et des universités.
- La liaison avec des experts techniques et de domaine.
- Le mentorat pour les botanistes diplômés et intermédiaires.
Exigences
Pour réussir dans ce rôle, il est essentiel de posséder :
- Des qualifications tertiaires en sciences environnementales, botanique, biologie, écologie ou une discipline connexe.
- Un minimum de trois années d’expérience professionnelle dans l’identification des espèces, idéalement axé sur la flore d’Australie-Occidentale.
- De solides compétences en communication écrite et verbale, ainsi que des compétences techniques avancées en reporting.
- Une attention particulière aux détails et des capacités de recherche démontrées.
- La capacité à travailler en équipe et à favoriser la collaboration.

📝 Description du poste : Job description:Plant Taxonomist – ( 25000207 )DescriptionThe role:Due to continued growth in our Environment business, we are looking for a Taxonomist/Flora Specialist to work in our passionate Flora & Vegetation Team. You will collaborate with a close-knit team who are experts in the field of botany, with demonstrated experience in undertaking comprehensive detailed flora and vegetation surveys, targeted significant species surveys, technical reporting, and impact assessments.Based in our very own herbarium located at our Perth office, you will be responsible for undertaking plant identifications collected by our staff across most bioregions of Western Australia. Additionally, as part of this role, you will manage and maintain the in-house herbarium and contribute to the professional growth of our team of botanists through mentoring and knowledge sharing.
