Description du Poste
Le candidat sélectionné sera intégré à l’École de Génie Chimique et se concentrera sur l’évaluation du cycle de vie (LCA) des processus et des produits à base de biomasse, notamment ceux issus de sources agricoles et de bois pour des applications textiles et d’emballage. Ce rôle soutiendra deux projets majeurs financés par l’Union Européenne, avec de nombreuses opportunités de publications de recherche à fort impact.
Responsabilités
Le postdoctoral researcher aura pour missions :
- Conduire des recherches avancées sur les méthodologies LCA spécifiques aux produits et procédés bio-basés.
- Développer et affiner des modèles LCA pour évaluer les impacts environnementaux en utilisant des outils logiciels tels qu’OpenLCA.
- Analyser des ensembles de données complexes pour identifier des axes d’amélioration de la durabilité environnementale.
- Encadrer et superviser des chercheurs juniors.
- Rédiger et publier des articles dans des revues scientifiques à fort impact.
- Participer à des événements, donner des conférences, et contribuer aux activités d’enseignement et ateliers.
- Établir un réseau avec des scientifiques et l’industrie pour soutenir la recherche et le développement de nouvelles propositions de recherche.
Le poste est à pourvoir immédiatement sous la direction de la Professeure Luana Dessbesell.
Équipe et Environnement de Travail
Intégré dans un groupe multidisciplinaire, le candidat participera à des projets de recherche visant à développer des innovations réellement durables dans le domaine des bioproduits. La recherche est encadrée par des preuves scientifiques rigoureuses, contribuant à l’élaboration de solutions pour atténuer les effets du changement climatique.
Qualifications Exigées
Les candidats doivent posséder :
- Un doctorat en sciences environnementales, génie chimique, biotechnologie ou domaine apparent, obtenu au cours des cinq dernières années.
- Une expérience en LCA des produits ou procédés bio-basés.
- La maîtrise des outils logiciels LCA.
- Une bonne expérience des évaluations ex-ante ou prospectives de LCA.
- Une capacité à réaliser des bilans massiques/énergétiques sur des processus bio-basés.
- Un précédent dans la publication de recherches dans des revues scientifiques à comité de lecture.
- Des compétences analytiques et critiques exceptionnelles.
- Des compétences en communication pour présenter des informations complexes à des publics académiques et industriels.
Préférences supplémentaires :
Une expérience en LCA dans les secteurs forestiers et liés, ainsi que des connaissances en méthodologies avancées (ex : LCA conséquential, LCA dynamique).

Le poste de chercheur postdoctoral est prévu pour une durée de deux ans avec un salaire mensuel estimé entre 3960 et 4110 EUR, selon l’expérience. Le travail se déroulera sur le campus vibrant d’Otaniemi, qui se démarque par son architecture moderne et sa communauté cosmopolite.

The portfolio of projects under the Sustainable Bioproducts Innovation research group provides opportunity for supporting several high impact publications.Your responsibility and goalsConduct advanced research on LCA methodologies specific to bio-based products and processes.Develop and refine LCA models to assess the environmental impacts of bio-based products and systems using software tools such as OpenLCA.Analyze complex datasets to identify key areas for improvement in environmental sustainability performance.Build mentoring skills by helping and supervising younger researchers.Lead and write peer-reviewed articles for high impact journals.Participate in events, give expert talks, support in teaching and workshops.Network with scientists and industry to support your research as well as the development of new research proposals.Grant reporting, managing and monitoring.Work with researchers, and industry partners to gather data and align simulations with practical needs.The postdoctoral researcher will be helping the PI and experts in managing projects, supervising students, funding reporting, gathering data coming from literatures and the industry partners to assess the sustainability of proposed concepts.
