Contexte du Poste
Suite à la crise en Ukraine, Mercy Corps s’engage à soutenir 500 000 personnes vulnérables à travers plusieurs pays, notamment l’Ukraine, la Pologne, la Roumanie et la Moldavie. Le programme se concentre sur l’assistance en espèces, les soutiens humanitaires et les services de protection. Le psychologue sera intégré dans un département d’opérations qui soutient l’ensemble du programme en matière de gestion et de logistique.

Le psychologue recruté travaillera au sein de l’organisation comme membre de l’équipe professionnelle. Sa mission principale consiste à fournir un soutien psychosocial aux bénéficiaires, en tenant compte des aspects culturels et spécifiques aux différentes tranches d’âge.

Responsabilités Principales :
- Offrir un soutien psychosocial adapté aux projets.
- Développer des programmes éducatifs tenant compte des caractéristiques des bénéficiaires.
- Identifier et évaluer les besoins des bénéficiaires en matière de soutien psychologique.
- Organiser des séances individuelles et de groupe pour améliorer l’état psycho-émotionnel.
- Tenir des dossiers clients précis et confidentiels.
- Participer à la rédaction de rapports d’activité.
Qualifications Requises
- Éducation : Diplôme de master en psychologie ou domaine pertinent.
- Expérience : Travaux antérieurs avec des personnes affectées par la guerre, la violence basée sur le genre, et d’autres contextes difficiles.
- Compétences Culturelles : Comprendre les croyances et pratiques culturelles liées à la santé mentale en Ukraine.
Facteurs de Réussite

Mercy Corps’ Ukraine crisis response seeks to meet the humanitarian needs of vulnerable Ukrainians and other war-affected people where they are: displaced inside Ukraine, refugees in Poland, Romania and Moldova, or trapped behind frontlines. We aim to reach 500,000 vulnerable people with multi-purpose cash assistance, in-kind humanitarian support, and protection services across four countries. Almost all of our impact will be delivered in partnership: with Ukrainian, Polish, Romanian and Moldovan civil society organizations through a granting program that matches humanitarian action with capacity strengthening, and with peer international NGOs through a consortium in Ukraine. Mercy Corps is responding to the Ukraine crisis with large-scale consortium programming with a focus on Multi-Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCA). The Consortium is a partnership between four international humanitarian aid agencies to model and deliver innovative, effective cash and other humanitarian assistance programs to support people affected by the Ukraine crisis within Ukraine.
The Operations Department provides key support to the entire country program in procurement, asset management, warehouse management, fleet management and facilities & office management for successful program implementation.General Position Summary:
- The organizational psychologist belongs to the professional group “Professionals”.
- Appointment to and dismissal from the position of psychologist is carried out by order of the Head of the Representative Office upon the recommendation of the department head.
- The psychologist’s reporting line is determined in accordance with the current organizational chart of the Organization.
Essential ResponsibilitiesSafeguarding Responsibilities
- Actively learns about safeguarding and integrates it into their work, including safeguarding risks and mitigations related to their area of work.
- Practices the values of Mercy Corps including respecting the dignity and well-being of participants and fellow team members.
- Encourages openness and communication in their team; encourages team members to submit reports if they have any concerns using reporting mechanisms e.g., Integrity Hotline and other options.
Main Responsibilities
- Provides psychosocial support to beneficiaries during project and inter-project periods.
- Develops and implements developmental, preventive, educational, and corrective programs, considering the individual, gender, and age-specific characteristics of the beneficiaries.
- Provides psychological support to beneficiaries in adapting to new living conditions.
- Offers consultative assistance to all beneficiaries receiving services within the framework of the project and during the interproject period.
- Identifies and assesses beneficiaries in need of socio-psychological correction and provides them with psychosocial support.
- Teaches beneficiaries psychological techniques to protect themselves from any forms of physical or psychological violence, humiliation of dignity, discrimination of any kind, propaganda, and agitation.
- Conducts psychological assessments and psycho-pedagogical correction of antisocial behavior, and psychological rehabilitation of beneficiaries.
- Organizes group enrollment and schedules for group and individual sessions and prepares plans for group activities.
- conducts individual psychological counseling for adolescents and adults.
- Carries out educational activities aimed at improving the psycho-emotional state of internally displaced persons (IDPs) and those in difficult life circumstances.
- Maintains accurate and confidential client records.
- Promotes awareness and education of beneficiaries regarding mental health.
- Participates in the writing of narrative reports on project implementation.
- Contributes to the prevention and mitigation of professional burnout among beneficiaries who have received support in previous projects.
- Adheres to the psychologist’s code of ethics, it respects the dignity, rights, freedoms, and lawful interests of all participants in the organization’s activities.
- Continuously improves their professional and general cultural competencies.
- Ensures the safety and health of staff during project implementation and in the interproject period.
- Comply with occupational safety, civil protection, and fire safety regulations.
Supervisory responsibility: –Knowledge & Experience:
- A complete higher education (specialist or master’s degree) in a relevant field.
- Practical experience working with individuals affected by the war in Ukraine, gender inequality, gender-based violence, and human trafficking.
- Deep understanding of cultural beliefs and practices related to mental health and stress management in Ukraine.
- Experience in organizing and conducting mental health and well-being campaigns tailored to the cultural context.
