Description du poste : Kia ora!Want to be involved in a farming community that challenges the status quo and supports its people to be the best they can be?Ngāi Tahu Farming’s kaupapa (purpose) is best represented by the Ngāi Tahu proverb ‘Toitū te Marae o Tāne, Toitū te Marae o Tangaroa, Toitū te Iwi’, ‘when land and water are sustained the people will prosper’.We are looking for an experienced Tractor Driver and Fencer General to join our dynamic and high-performing team in Culverden, where you’ll be working on a 770ha irrigated platform, finishing approximately 4000hd of beef cattle annually and grazing 1500 replacements. As part of our team of four, you’ll play a key role in operating and maintaining tractors and other farm equipment to carry out a range of tasks, including fence repair and maintenance. In addition, you’ll be responsible for general tractor work, such as feeding out and mowing paddocks and operating pivots, while also assisting with all aspects of stock management. Our ideal candidate has:
- Experience operating tractors and other farm equipment (essential)
- Ideally, experience building and maintaining fences
- Proven ability in stock and pasture management, with necessary planning and organisational skills to achieve goals and objectives.
- A strong sense of motivation and enjoys working as a team player, with the ability to take the lead as required
- An openness to further learning to take their skills and experiences to the next level
- Is committed to Ngāi Tahu Farming’s quadruple bottom line (social, environmental, cultural and economic pillars)
- Respect for Māori cultural values and customs (Tikanga)
- An awareness of and affinity for the needs and aspirations of Ngāi Tahu whānui.
